Make it rain
The idea is fantastic. But when you feel like you should stick a $600 portable AC unit outside of your tent or truck. It's a little insane. This thing absolutely ruined my camping trip by leaking everywhere. Even with the exhaust tube draining outside of the tent, it's still leaked water everywhere. Ruin the boxes. Ruined, multiple camping utensils. Do not buy this product for $600 You expect something that doesn't leak water everywhere? It doesn't take 30 minutes to cool up a small tent. I would not recommend this product to anybody. Just get a standard, portable ac unit Just save your money. I can't imagine having this thing and spending all this money and having it leak. And not work perfectly, real shame.

I really wanted this to work, but it doesn't
I really wanted this to work for camping in our sprinter van and I could not get it to create any cooling effect in the van no matter what setup I tried.

It DOES work - you just need to know how to use it
So, I have been testing this in several different configurations for the last month before I take it out in the field, and I am glad I did as there some peculiarities that needed to be understood on how this little unit operates.Firstly, keep in mind that it only puts out 2380BTU when in its max setting, and it will not be immediate. The beauty of this unit is the slow ramp-up of power draw, which is ideal for small battery power-stations that would otherwise NOT be able to run even a small window AC. It will often start at about 18-20 watts, then slowly ramp up to between 220-245 watts when the compressor is operating at full capacity. It takes about 5-10 minutes, but usually after a couple of minutes you will feel the cold air. It's not going to be super cold like your vehicle's AC, but it will be noticeably cooler than the surrounding hot air.Second - and this is very important - you do not want to restrict any of the airflow to the unit from the intake or exhaust ports in the rear - it will not allow the unit to ramp up the draw to a high enough level for the compressor to work as intended. It took me a while to realize that. I have a foam camper sleeper made by Tusca Outdoors that is maybe 180 cu ft inside and is very well insulated. I tried using longer insulated flex-hose to intake and vent out the hot air through the two 3" louvered vents, and it would not cool. I then tried running out the window with a home-made insert, but that still required longer hose, albeit not by much. There is probably a reason why the kit only comes with three expandable hoses to go out to 36"/91CM. I then decided to put the unit outside under the camper, then used one of the included hoses to vent directly into the electrical port, and it ramped up to speed and cooled it off inside very nice. Like it was a hot 92°F/33°C day and it was 72°F/22°C inside within about 15 minutes. I also discovered some cool air leaking from the front vent port because the louvered area where the plastic hose attachment connects to is only loosely attached. To remedy this, I used some HVAC metal tape and sealed off that area, and it worked even better. I also placed a small piece of screen door/window type mesh over the rear intake and exhaust vents which is held in place by the tube attachment clip. That just keeps insects or detritus from getting sucked in the intake or entry into when not running. All in all, the unit works pretty darn well, but you need to understand its limitations. My camper is well insulated; whereas a tent may not. You definitely need to make sure there is ample airflow in and out of the unit to keep the optimal draw to make the compressor run at full capacity so the system can do its thing. Hope this helps.

Does it work technically yes…
You really cannot expect too much. Used it to cool inside of teardrop camper approximately 30 ft.². Used cold air vent via duct into window. Since this unit does not have a return for the precondition air if you do not have it inside the area being cooled, you are always cooling hot air, which affects the efficiency. Did it drop the temperature, just a little, but it did drop the humidity inside the cabin, which made it feel “comfortable “

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY
Don't waste your money on this product. It is absolutely worthless. For the money I paid, I thought it would be an amazing product. Unfortunately, it does not perform as it is described. It blows air, but that's about it. Cool, not even close. All I can say is that it is a very expensive fan.DON'T BUY IT

Review
It is nice and lightweight and easily portable, however it didn’t cool down at all. I put two of these in a 10x10 tent completely closed off with 4 attachable walls and it didn’t cool it down at all.

Poor Customer Service & Product Quality
The unit stop working after 2 uses. Then the returns process was ridiculously long. Amazon usually refunds returns quickly but thus store is taking over 2 weeks AFTER receiving the return to issue the refund. I WILL NEVER buy from this vendor again.
