Sturdy Cabling/Connectors & Works Perfectly
Used this to program my VX-5R and it worked perfectly. Driver installation was a breeze with Windows 11 and I encountered zero issues. Went ahead and tested it a few times even going so far as to back up my radio settings completely and then restore using this cable.Worked perfectly with CHIRP and the RTSystems programming suite. Zero errors encountered.I will be recommending this cable to other Amateur Radio operators in the future.I was provided this unit for review and testing purposes.

DOES NOT WORK, DO NOT BUY!
Got this cable to program my old Yaesu VX-5 and it doesn't work.Cable comes in a pouch with a mini CD and it's riddled with problems. First of all, it's only USB-A, not USB-C, so you have to go find an adapter if your computer was made in this decade...Once you find that, and you plug it in, you realize that the computer doesn't recognize it. Works with Mac? Not at all. Ok... so I decide to slum it and find an old copy of Windows 11 in a virtual machine, get it to recognize that adapter was plugged in and... nothing. No driver.Wait, there's a Mini-CD included in the pouch. What's a Mini-CD? Something folks used in the 1990s to install software. I haven't had a computer that had a CD Rom drive since George W Bush took office. How about a download link? And a Mac link that works? So yeah, this is low-effort junk from a junk manufacturer. Do NOT buy it.
