Well, I had a nasty chainsaw accident to my hand, and after a lot of physiotherapy I was given the go ahead to use this hand gripper to strengthen my hand and it most definitely helped. You can adjust the pressure on gripper but I think your wife should check with your Gp first, Peter in Ireland.

The ring will develop hand and finger strength. Put the ring in your palm and simply close your fingers around it. Squeeze and hold. The grip ring is 7cm diameter so fits easily in a pocket for use during the day.
