No, it should not. It simply helps to keep your darks from fading with washes. Great product.

Q: Does it help darken blue jeans? What if they are two-toned faded on purpose?

I does not darken the colors it just keeps them from fading as quickly as when you use regular detergent.

Q: Can this be used on HE washers?

There are instructions for HE washers on the back of the bottle

Q: Will it discolor white lettering on dark clothes?

I've used Perwoll for several years, and never had any discoloration. I think the product is great.
