My daughter came home for Christmas and sent me a link to have this on hand while here. I’ve not been a huge fan of Yerba Mate probably because I’ve been drinking crap. The taste is amazing, the smell is wonderful. It made me feel like I shifted into 3rd gear. Caffeine makes me feel jittery but gets me going. This makes me feel like I’ve got the smooth mental horsepower I need to get things done. The bag is huge! (Banana for scale) and the price can’t be beat.

Other reviewers are right, it IS a milder taste than most others. That’s good, because it doesn’t seem like you ‘re drinking earth and roots! In any case, it has that signature solid yet slow release of caffeine you expect from Yerba Mate! (I’d give 5 stars but I’m a snob.)

Not only is this a HUGE bag at a great price (what you see in the photo was only 3/5 of the bag!), it’s also a gorgeous mate. Powder is nearly non-existent from what I’ve seen so far, the flavor is crisp, smooth, and earthy without too much bitterness, and the cut on the leaves is super even. Well worth the price - I’ll absolutely be buying this brand in the future!

My favorite mate!

I tried this for the first time, but it’s just not my cup of tea—pun intended. I’ve been drinking mate’ for over 40 years, and while this one is very clean, it feels almost too clean, to the point where it seems like the Yerba itself has been stripped of its tea properties. When you steep it in the mate’ gord, you have to let it sit for a while just to get any color, and even then, the flavor is very mild. If you're looking for something very light, or if you want an introduction to mate, this could work. However, if you're used to a stronger, more robust flavor, like a bold yerba mate, this won't be strong enough. It feels more like it's just washing down the leaves rather than offering any substantial flavor. The yerba flavor is okay, but it's not really fulfilling its intended purpose.

I love making big batches of iced tea with this stuff. The flavor is excellent and never gets bitter even if I accidentally over steep it. This has been a life saver in my transition out of tons of coffee/energy drinks all day long. Very constant energy boost without the peaks and valleys I get with other caffeinated drinks. I’ll repurchase!
