Nice golf addition
The skycaddie is distance spot on. Once you learn how to figure the distance to green beyond front, middle and back ((simple) it becomes a valuable tool for your golf game.

Terrible customer loyalty and business plan by SkyCaddie. Poor product R&D on the Pro 5X.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:My SkyCaddie (SC) SX500 "Ball Mark" function became troublesome and around July 1, 2025, the screen locked-up just as I started a round of golf. I tried restarting it and doing a hard reset. No luck. I called SkyCaddie (SkyHawke Technologies) and after the tech walking me thru another restart and hard reset, he stated that the unit was 4 yrs old and there was nothing the could do. Sold me a new SC Pro 5X, which came with a 1 yr membership. I explained that approximately 10 prior I had renewed my SC Birdie service contract. His response was "sorry" no refunds on service contracts.

PRO5X Hardware and Software Problems Ruined my Golf
I have been a loyal Sky Caddie user for 10 years. I have owned many devices, most recently the SX550. It was great, very accurate and reliable. It was updated with the software for Super Tags and i was able to use the 5 Super Tags i bought.I hoped i would get more functions from the PRO5X and bought from Sky Golf. What a mistake! It refused to recognize my Super tags on my club. It deleted my driver altogether! I had to reinstall it as "2 Wood" . I tried it twice in golf rounds and it paused several times and had to be rebooted. This was aggravating and time wasting. Then, on the 3rd day out it froze completely on Hole #7. I rebooted, cold booted. Waited, rebooted again. i spent over 45 minutes working on it.So i want to return to Sky Caddie and i spent 45 min in "live chat" on their website to see "Victor" send my basic instructions from his script. No evidence he ever understand my issue.i cannot call their telephone support as i work those hours. And i cannot reauthorized my old trusty SX550 as it is now blocked.Sky Caddie is losing me as a faithful supporter over hardware and software glitches and very poor support.I am sorry to say "STAY AWAY FROM SKYCADDIE".

Not recommended
I was recently about to pull the trigger on this device and upgrade, but at the last minute decided to try to renew my older Skycaddie SGX. Their website still sells subscriptions specifically for the SGX, so I obviously thought it was still in service, though I knew it would be losing support soon. I buy the Eagle subscription and quickly found out it wouldn't sync with their website (sync issues have been an historic issue with my SGX); a tech support chatbot told me that the SGX would no longer sync because it's not wireless, only USB, and their only products that work and sync are the new wireless ones like this Pro 5X. I stated that it was clearly misleading to offer the subscription for the device if they knew it wouldn't work. I asked for a refund and was quickly told "subscriptions are non-refundable per policy......but we've got a great deal for you on an upgrade!". I persisted on the refund route and was told I'd need to call the support phone line. I did, and after I made my case, was IMMEDIATELY granted a full refund. I'm clearly not the first person to bring up their bait/switch policy with them, and contrary to what the first chatbot told me, subscriptions certainly ARE refundable. I've seen this new Pro 5X in use and it is a very nice GPS. For it's time, my SGX was really nice, too, and I still use it on the courses I had downloaded on it. The only problem is that Skycaddie devices are notoriously unreliable, their web interface is dated and glitchy (to be generous) and their business model appears to now be of questionable ethics. I've been a Skygolf customer for about a decade now but will no longer use their products because of this. I would have purchased a Pro 5X had I not had the experience I just had with my SGX subscription. Caveat emptor.
