Vast improvement over the stock stand.
This stand is strong, holds its position well, and is very stable. I use my microscope almost daily (the stock stand broke) and have yet to have a problem with this item. I question whether the tension will last long term, but at this price point I’m not sure if that matters? I’m very satisfied with this product and do recommend it.The review guide questions the “coolness” of this item. To me, this stand is adequately cool. I think that owning this stand makes people like me more.

It all depends on what you’re looking at. Not sturdy a little wobbly.
Not bad for six bucks

Worked Perfectly
Perfect for holding the mini magnifier I got. The magnifier came with a cheap silver stand that would not hold at any angle but this works great holding it in place.

I absolutely love this!
I have a USB microscope, and the stand that came with it was absolutely worthless. The clear plastic thing that goes around the device broke, and I couldn't get it stay the right position to see anything. This new microscope stand is an absolute game changer. I can put it in the position I need and it stays there. It's very sturdy. My USB Microscope thanks this stand for saving it from the landfill.

Pointless. Magnification not as claimed. Cell phone takes better images with its native lens.
The claimed magnification range of 50-1600x is completely bogus. It has a fixed focal length lens. So it has a single optical magnification - 2x. Yes, you can blow up the images as much as you'd like on your computer or cell phone screen, but that's not what anyone using a microscope would call magnification. And the more you blow them up, the grainier they will get. Moreover, your cell phone camera will do a better job as a microscope than this will. Your cell phone has a much better sensor, far more pixels, and a lot more processing power. Newer phones have a macro mode that gives equivalent optical magnification. You have to connect it to your cell phone to use it. But your cell phone will take better "magnified" images. It's like driving a Ford Focus while towing your Ferrari.Pointless.The images below are of the bar code on the shipping label. The image at left was taken with microscope in its stand (no vibration) at 2x magnification The image at right was taken hand-held by my google pixel 9 in macro mode at 2x magnification. The image resolution and contrast with the pixel 9 are much better.

Nice upgrade over stock and excellent value
I have the Skybasic 50x-1000x and it fits in there perfectly. I suspect that there is enough flex in the bracket to accommodate some variation in the width of the mic. The bracket is also coated/padded so that it won't scratch the mic, a nice touch. While the set-screw stands offer even more stability, they also cost more and this does a good enough job of keeping the mic still when making adjustments. There are other vendors selling this exact stand for slightly more, so need to overspend no matter by how little. This is the one to get if you just want a cost-effective replacement that does a better job, or you broke the original plastique one that the mic came with like I did.
