25mm Extra Heavy-Duty Utility Knife (H-1) - Anti-Slip Rubber Inset

I was going to buy some fancy insulation knife until I found this. It cuts through fiberglass easily without any part of the handle being close enough to snag or bunch up the insulation. It makes cuts quick and simple in one step. I read some reviews saying that it is pricey for what it is but I disagree. It is well made. The thumb screw is easy to operate with just a thumb for easy one handed release and securing. The blade is holding up well after over 30 cuts so far and I'm still on the original tip.

This was recommended by a YouTuber so I tried it out and love it! I'm so used to really solid razor knives I was concerned in ordering it but having used it a few times cutting drywall I love it. The handle is easily gripped and the blade is more stiff they I expected - though you can extend it out to make it a little flexible to cut things off flush to a surface. It probably won't cut carpet like my very solid, old-fashioned razor knives, but it'll do almost anything else except those really heavy duty jobs.

Built like a tank. Good value. Super sharp, super professional looking, and I love how the blade tightens down. No way you could accidentally deploy the blade.

I work in general construction and have always loved a good work knife. This tool arrived as expected. Those with smaller fingers and Palms, especially ladies, avoid this knife as the handle will seem silly. This is my insulation knife but I have tested it by doing much more. The blade is held by the wheel mechanism with much strength, which for this tool is critically important. The grip is an added touch but this knife is not known for best in class ergonomics. (For that, buy a utility knife where the design shows that it is intended to fit the negative of a hand grip. That is, the shape of the handle is obviously made to be held tightly.). This knife is highly versatile, however, as the user possesses ultimate control of the blade length. That adjustment is the selling point for me, giving varied functionality to anyone’s task-related needs. Believe me when I say that the blade is held stronger than ANY other make/brand - you can have the thing extended way out and still can trust it’s strength, which gives stability and ultimately safety. Some believe that the snap-off blades give the user a sharp blade with more ease but for me it’s easier to change a conventional utility knife. The wheel mechanism is not as smooth as Olfa’s nicer snap-off knives, but for the price this is a winner. For the workshop, the car, the tool box or the junk drawer I’m going to recommend this knife to anyone who can wield it comfortably.

I bought this utility knife to try out based on a popular DIY YouTube channel after seeing how useful the design is compared to the standard shop utility knife. The main feature is the blade system which features a much larger blade and longer blade. Being able to extend the blade way out front of the handle adds a great deal of utility, so this became my favorite shop/household utility knife very quickly. It is larger and slightly heavier than a standard utility knife, so maybe not the most practical for finesse work, but the build quality is not lacking, so I am confident it will hold up for many years of hard use. The only complaint I have is the cost, which hard for me to see it as a value proposition compared to the standard knife. The replacement blades are also pricey. These are made in Japan of seemingly very good materials and are of a uniquely useful design, so in the end, I have to say they are worth the money.

Don't hesitate. Buy this knife. I have been using these OLFA knives for years, based on a recommendation from Dad (decades ago). They are virtually indestructible. The blades last a LONG time and are extremely sharp. You can buy replacement blades almost anywhere. Once you try cutting difficult things with this knife, you will instantly say: "Where have YOU been all of my life!"
