If it's good enough for Seth
I have all of Bernadette's books but this one has gone to a whole new level of excellence. This is the kind of advice and insight that is desperately needed In today's world of fractured values and ethics. What Bernadette teaches in this book is the competitive advantage for anyone in business no matter what size. I learned of Bernadette from Seth Godin who is a big fan. If it's good enough for Seth, it's more than good enough for me. The stories in this book brilliantly illustrate the power of ethics, vision and win-win business. They are a blast to read and skillfully written. Frankly, I couldn't put it down it's so readable. This book is a must. Support Bernadette's work as she is someone who is making the world a better place. Story Driven: You don't need to compete when you know who you are

So good I wish I had written it
We've entered a new era in business an era that is characterized by flourishing and thriving -- words that were once shunned in the boardroom are now taking center stage. Bernadette is one of the luminaries lighting the way. She believes that "a great company doesn't just thrive because it's profitable; it's profitable because it helps people to thrive."Story Driven is part business book and part social commentary and all of it enjoyable. Well done, Bernadette! Having read all of your books, I believe this one is the best. I liked it so much, I bought 20 copies to share with fellow business owners so they will "win by mattering."

Rewriting & Creating The Story To Create The Future
This book is outstanding and warrants the writing of a review. I did a great deal of highlighting while reading this book and tweeting. Bernadette does an outstanding job of guiding us through how to differentiate ourselves, our brands, and our organizations by telling the right story. In order to do this she teaches us in the reading how to know who we are, what we stand for, where we are headed, and what has made us personally, our brand, and our organization. Most importantly, she teaches us why this story is important to be told. She posits we need to forget about competition and focus on what makes us and our work unique and valuable. It was great to be reminded that we, and those we serve, are identified by what we do. Our story needs to be one of significance and not just success. Anyone who wants to be grounded, intentional, and deliberate in the creation of the future he or she wants the world to realize needs to read this book.

Why bring politics in?
Telling your story to people when you have a business is very important.I was interested to find out what the author had to say about this.I stopped reading when politics came up.Wish people could learn to give their thoughts on a subject without that happening.

Good read
Good ideas and questions at the back section to help business brainstorm ideas. For people without a business, this book can still be used to gain clarity on personal life’s directions and growth. Became a little dull when I got to the part where the author shares examples of other businesses, there were too many examples. However I know it can be helpful to gain different perspectives from these businesses and their model and make it applicable to our own business. Since I don’t own a business, I was less interested in that part of the book.

Breathtaking. Life changing.
Bernadette’s books never disappoint. Her approach is masterful and full of practical questions to get you digging deep for answers that very likely could be the catalyst that changes your world. I have been fighting head and heart, ‘should do’s’ versus pursuing my passion for several years. Following this process has helped me connect to my passions in a way I never allowed myself to do before. If you’re struggling to find your story or as a business you want to connect with people in a way that pulls them in - start here.

Our brand story is now adamant.
I purchased and read thet book 'Story Driven' recently. I worked through it in a matter of days. For anyone looking to start their own business or perhaps review their existing brand I highly reccomend it.This read has really enabled us to add a whole new layer of depth to the Prepair NZ brand. While it's taken a lot of thought, work and really digging deep - we've never been more adamant and clear in who we are.

Worth a speed read
While I loved the premise and underlying message of this book - to connect with who you are and what matters most and to be driven by your story - I was slightly disappointed to discover that this was purely focused on business owners. As a business owner myself I did find the book was relevant, but I was disappointed not to see the subject of being Story Driven applied and explored in a more personal context - e.g. how does an employee become story driven as an individual, and the interplay between an employees story and an organisation/employer’s one. A little repetitive for me, and rather too much emphasis on corporate case studies, but I did gain some great insights from the opening chapters.

Worth reading...BUT...
I really looked forward to reading this as part of my resources for a rebranding strategy. I’ve read a few books along these lines and did find this one useful for insight and a different perspective. There are nuggets within which locate the perspective. The book is pleasantly short and is an easy read (it was delivered at 3pm and I’ve just completed it at 4.30!) however don’t let that put you off! It means it’s not like wading through treacle to read it! I can see this book being handy as a reference or as a training tool for managers, and a must read for CEOs.What didn’t I like about it?Well, I’d hoped for more practical advice and insight on HOW to apply the methodologies and more devoted to the technical/practical application of the story-driven framework. There’s only a few pages where you can run the exercise for yourself, and I feel it would have helped more had Jiwa examines the different angles of her thesis in more depth, and if she had provided more in depth exercises and frameworks as a guide to create the story behind a brand (however I believe this is covered in another book)There is a fairly large chunk of case studies, and in a few places the book likes to repeat itself which leaves the feeling of at least 10-20 pages being filler material.Overall, a book worth reading in concert with other titles if you are seeking specific insight into this area of personal and professional development, but don’t expect a great deal more than an introduction to the theory and a wedge of case study examples. It will live on my bookshelf as reference material along with my other titles in the genre space but I think a little highly priced for the content compared to other offerings covering similar topics (ie Sinek et al). Sorry Bernadette!!

Very insightful on personal & professional topics.
As I recently completed re-reading Seth Godin's "What to do when it's your turn", I looked up Bernadette Jiwa, and was so glad that I did, quite timely indeed as I found myself reflecting on my own path as an individual and working professional. There is plenty in this book that shows how stories are becoming absolutely critical in shaping a company / product or service. Plenty of of case studies for reference. The framework is also quite useful. The takeaway for me was more personal around life/work planning which resonated on so many levels, often reaffirming my own thinking (I'm on the right path, I'm not crazy afterall).Highly recommended.

Was an interesting read
This was a book that captured a lot of thoughts and ideas I had before and expressed them in a simple anchovies way. I enjoyed it and am now working thru capturing my own story.
