Excellent used camera.
The condition was exactly as described so happy in that respect. As for using it I'm a complete novice with this type of camera mainly only ever used my phone camera so I haven't been able to use all the settings yet. But it does seem to be all working and takes a great picture and video. It's not heavy and fits perfectly on a normal camera tripod. Now it doesn't have WiFi or Bluetooth but after reading various articles on the internet I came to the conclusion that these settings were not particularly important and in fact can reduce quality of pictures. It is very quick to pop your memory card out and transfer to your phone. I have purchased a remote shutter control which plugs into a micro usb on side of the camera. I have also purchased a bag and 2 batteries and charger completing my set up.Would I recommend this make and model?Yes I would I researched slr camera before purchasing and this camera was given good reviews hence my reason for going ahead with buying it.

Not a DSLR but a great bridge camera
As a DSLR user I wanted a light weight, easy to use camera for days out when a smart phone will just not good enough. Very impressed with the control lay out and features included. Function button and custom button very good. Zoom and colour reproduction are good. Battery life excellent. View finder a bit basic but so useful in bright conditions. Not used in dim conditions, suspect that not great, just adequate. This is not a SLR, but as a bridge camera that is easy to carry and use I would highly recommend. The DSLR will still be used for more serious photography but this camera will certainly be first choice for days out.

Would have been brilliant for the Isle of Man TT
I bought this to replace my Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H300 Digital Bridge Camera, as I was getting fed up trying to take pictures when I was at the Isle of Man TT with no view finder. (Missed the Red Arrows too). This camera is light years ahead of my old Sony and comes with the 10 frames per second function, which would have been brilliant for the TT, and the Red Arrows. There are so many functions on this camera, that will take time to get used to. I'm no pro, so I find that this camera is at my level and I'm comfortable with that. It's a brilliant camera for the money, and even better when I get the £30 back from Sony later this month. I did look at quite a few other cameras, before I stumbled on this one. The picture quality is just perfect, I can't really fault it if I'm honest. It feels a solid bit of kit as well. If you want a camera with some good functions on it, and aren't too bothered about getting a job in fleet street, then this camera will more than fill your needs.

As an SLR user; a good Bridge camera yes, but still only a Bridge camera
Firstly, "Bridge" camera, ie something that bridges the functional gap between a point & shoot compact and a full function camera like an SLR outfit.I bought this as literally a bridge. I've been a Canon EOS user for years and also own some compacts too (eg Lumix and Canon's awesome but compact G15)... This camera does indeed bridge the gap between them, so to speak, though there are limitations….I wanted a long zoom, optical image stabilisation, a good quality lens (let's face it, it's the lens that takes or makes the picture mostly), functionality for camera control (the usual Aperture and Shutter value controls), capability in various lighting situations, all in a compact body. This camera delivers that on face value, and it certainly takes a good enough picture.I found a big bunch of ‘pros’ and a handful of ‘cons’ during use:Pros:Compact design, screen can be moved up & down for high and low angle shots, great lens quality, awesome zoom, very close up focus when needed, the lens ring can be used for zoom or manual focus, stabilisation is as good as suggested, wide range of ISO for a range of light level capability, low light hand held photos are better than many cameras I’ve used, the post-shutter processing does a good job and most shots require no manual processing to bring out the best for most domestic purposes, you get the Aperture and Shutter settings like an SLR too, and there are other settings and enhancements you can use too like metering, focus modes, manual modes, image processing, ability to customise the quick menu buttons to provide instant access to your favourite settings to name a few…Cons:It is a little slow to fire up when you need to grab a quick shot. Zooming is comparatively slow, either with the fingertip switch or using the lens ring. The range of Shutter and Aperture values is slightly more limited than I would perhaps like, but then I’ve been used to the range that the SLR outfit offers (I tried taking some moon photos on a tripod with zoom, which the SLR would perform for, and found this camera too hit-and-miss for my liking). Only JPEG format? I guess most ‘domestic’ users would only use JPEGs anyway so not overall a problem. The screen has no sideways movement, only up & down. Post-shutter processing time can delay your photo taking activities between shots if you want to take pics in quick succession in single shot mode (I turned off the preview function to save time between shots as touching the shutter button to cancel it so easily led to taking an accidental shot, which delayed things again!).In summary: a bridge it is, a fast and furious SLR it’s not. It takes a really great picture in nearly all situations I’ve presented it with. For the price it’s easily a capable enough camera for most methinks.

Brilliant!
What a super camera.I bought this to replace a Nikon D5300. Yes I really did and is so much easier for me as an amateur. This thing is marvellous and I have had some cameras in my 68 years of life. I would say it is the best camera I have used so far. I have always been a Pentax man but recently bought a Nikon which I really could not get on with. The X 50 optical zoom is super and the X 50 digital zoom is better than any digital zoom I have ever seen. I didn't see any loss of quality on full 50 x optical and full x 50 digital = X 100. Absolute perfection for me. I am no professional but I love this camera and for the price it is a wonderful.I have added a picture or two for you to see and these are using the full X 100 zoom. These were hand held too and as you can see it was a perfect shot using the optical steady shoot. The blackbird was on top of the tall conifer (30feet tall) and I was maybe 30 meters away from the tree. It was also a fairly windy day and optical steady shot did a wonderful picture.I fully recommend this camera but be aware these have no GPS or Wi-Fi as I never use them anyway.

Great, Clear Images from an Easy to Use Camera
Purchased for my daughter (Age 8) and she loves it - loves the fact she can zoom in and out easily, aperture mode, and can switch between rear screen and view finder to take and review images. The adjustable screen makes it great for taking images discreetly, get some really nice candid shots
