Does the job easily!
These twist pins screwed the arm covers easily onto the arms of my recliner and they are holding very well. I appreciate that they're clear, too, so don't take away from the fabric of the chair.

Works great to keep sofa slip cover in place!
I bought these to hold a sofa slip cover in place, it works great!!!! I bought the 30 pack and used most of them, just to make sure it wouldn't come out. So far so good! It's a leather sofa so it took a little more work to pierce the surface but once I got it to poke through it was easy to get them twisted into place. There are also cute and dont look out of place since they are clear, you hardly notice they are there. I moved every which way and even laid down on the sofa and it all stayed in place (LOL) I'll definitely recommend these and will be ordering another pack for my loveseat.Only thing is I wish the metal part was a little bit thicker, hence why I used most to hold in place the slipcover. But I think they will hold.😊

They work, but stick out too far
I used these to hold arm covers on some chairs that I bought. So 1950's, I know. My grandmother used to have these. I'm a little let down by them though because the heads on them are a little protruding and easy to catch your clothes on. They do work for their job, but the chair I'm using them on has arms that are close together. Whenever I set down, I have to be very careful to not rub the arms. I've scratched my hands with the heads of these, and I also have ripped them out when my pants caught on one. Luckily it pulled right out of the material without damaging the material, and also luckily the pin fell between the arm and cushion and I didn't sit on it. the pin itself was stretched out twice it's the normal length. So, down a star. I would think the head could be redesigned to be less sharp and harder to snag on clothes.

Twist Pins for Upholstery
I haven't seen these for years. My mother and grandmother used them, but they are apparently a thing of the past. I needed them to hold some chair arm covers in place on a newly recovered chair. They worked for a head piece that kept slipping off the back of the chair as well. I may order some more just to have on-hand.

I think these work great!
I don’t understand the problems people had with this product. I purchased it because I had purchased a slip cover for a chair I have, and the slip cover was a tad bit short and wouldn’t cover the bottom of the chair. The slip cover is stretchy so I was able to pull it down over the bottom of the chair and secure it under the chair using these little gems. I purchased a package of 10 and used everyone of them. They were very easy to screw in and not one of them broke. You have to be light handed when screwing them in and let them do the work. Everyone of them went in securely and have stayed that way. I’ll be purchasing more for another slip covered sofa I have.

They're ok, but with one thing to be aware of ...
I have a favorite rocker-recliner with arm-rest covers, and I have three children ages 3, 5, and 7 who like to clamber all over my rocker-recliner and inadvertently knock the arm-rest covers to the floor. After picking the arm-rest covers up off of the floor for what seemed the zillionth time, I ordered these upholstery pins to secure the covers on the arm-rest.The pins are long enough and do a good job of holding the covers in place. However, I did find one problem if you have smaller children sit that next to these pins. Two of my children ended up with long, painful scratches on their arms after I installed these pins. Upon close examination of the pins, I'm guessing that they were probably formed enmass in a mold, with stringers lightly connecting the plastic "button heads" together. When the stringers were later broken-off and the heads separated, some of the pins were left with a slightly long, sharp piece of plastic sticking out of the button head. This wouldn't be a problem for adults, as an adult would push up and stand to get out of the chair, but smaller children will slide out of the chair, and could scratch themselves if their arms or body is against the pin when they slide out. Once I became aware of the problem, I took a file and ground the sharp pieces off of the pins, so it was an easy fix.Overall, these pins are inexpensive and do what they say, but if you have small children who would be likely to slide against the pins, you may want to look at the pins' button heads and check for sharp edges. Three stars.

Great product; but a caution for car headliner use
The main thing that prompted me to buy these was to fix the headliner in my car, which had begun to sag at the rear window. They didn't work for that purpose, but that's not the product's fault. I should've paid attention to an earlier reviewer who said she'd found them ineffective in her early-2000s Honda. That's what we have, and the foam layer that the liner attaches to is much too thin for these to work -- and they can't be pushed through the hard backing layer. (In the end I simply used plain old thumb-tacks. They CAN be pushed through the backing layer, which is solid enough to hold them in place very securely.)So, advice: before buying these twist pins for your headliner, try to estimate how much thickness of foam backing you've got to work with. I'd say you need about a half-inch, since that's how long the pins are (measuring in a straight line from the base to the tip of the spiral).I'm still giving these a 5-star rating, though, because for another use they're perfect: holding arm-rest covers in place on our easy chairs.
