Microlight Pilot's Handbook - 8th Edition

This Book is the de-facto standard book to possess for a microlight Student Pilot and is a recommendation by most microlight flying instructors. It is an Excellent Small Book, which can be read through in a few days, and then kept for reference, which you will do time and again All of the answers to the theory part of the ppl(m) are condensed within this book, you don't really need any other book. So if you only have a small budget, this is the book to buy. It doesn't teach you how to fly, thats what an instructors for, but it gives you all you need to know about the theory. If you already possess the 7th edition, then you should just do what I did, and just get the Kindle edition. In Fact, I can see no difference in the real content between this, the 8th edition and the 7th edition, The air law section may have been updated to reflect changes in that. Given that the author sadly died a few years before this edition came out, I'm not entirely sure who has provided the update, as its not stated.

Bought as part of a birthday present for a friend who was also gifted a microlight experience. He thought the book was brilliant.

Brian Cosgrove was a hero of Microlight circles for many years. Hos range fo books were the bibles for Microlight students and pilots for many years and they continue to be so. This book is the ultimate study book for those planning on doing their Microlight NPPL. it forms a study planner for the exams and an ongoign wuick reference guide for the more experienced pilot. Every instructor I know has one. Every student pilot I know either has one, has ordered one or wants to order one. It would be useful to have it in a smaller format for easier walk-around portabilitywith the rest of my fligh gear. That might constrain the graphics and make it more difficult to use, so probably not fair criticism. The ultimate guide for Microlight pilots, with a range of other specialist books mentioned within by the same author. 5/5

Excellent book.

A must for all student and qualified microlight pilots, pitched at a beginners level and easy to understand for the novice student is a great supplement for someone learning to fly and should be your first book, in conjunction with qualified instruction will be very useful in getting to grips with the technicalities of flying, it is well structured and an interesting read I was a total novice to flying and I found this book very useful. It may be necessary to check out future editions based on any changes to future aviation law, but this book concentrates alot on the flying and even earlier editions can be quite informative.

Perfect for trainee Pilots or experienced pilots who want to keep their knowledge up to date. The only book a micro pilot needs to get through their NPPL or for anyone interested in aviation. Quick, precise and a good read with easy explanations. Book is good size to carry about and read on the go or keep in flight bag

Great book.

I am planinng to start flying and this book was like a buddy for me. Other than the obvious fields related to aviation, it also offers a lot of friendly advices for when you are up in the air!

It is a slow read as there is a great deal of technical information to read and digest but it is a must read
