Multi Use Monitoring
I’ve purchased two of these, one for my mailbox and another one for my rolling trash bin. They work GREAT. I’m now notified when my mail is received and when the trash service picks up. I live in a rural area and I’ve had my mail stolen previously. With this monitor and a locking mailbox ….Problem solved. With the garbage bin, it’s about 150 feet to the road, so just hated walking all the way out to the road to find out the service hadn’t picked up yet….especially in the rain or snow. Not anymore! You can go wrong, these work really well.

Great range, needs better adhesive and more customization
Great range from the base station. My mailbox is over 500 feet away and the signal has to deal with my brick house. (It probably goes through a window but still...). My Wi-Fi doesn't reach the mailbox but the base station connects to the mailbox alarm with no problem. The unit consists of two parts. There's the sensor itself which detects light and houses a battery, and that clips on to a mounting bracket that you put on the inside of the door of your standard curb line mailbox. The mounting bracket is attached to the door with a peel and stick adhesive. Unfortunately that adhesive will not hold up to very hot temperatures particularly if your mailbox is in the sun. The temperature went above 90 and I started getting false alarms because the detector was sliding around and detecting subtle changes in light. This isn't hard to fix; you just need and adhesive that can withstand high temperatures. I reattached the mounting bracket with silicone sealant design for fireplace components. Definitely overkill but it was a cheap fix and it got the job done. I'm not sure if that sealant is designed to stand up to winter temperatures but I guess I'll find out in a few months. The bottom line is that you're going to have to think about how you attach the mounting bracket in your climate. The X-Sense app is good in the sense that it's easy to understand and it works. A lot of apps for these types of gizmos are terrible but overall I'm impressed with X-Sense. But it doesn't have much in the way of customization. And that means that whenever the mailbox is opened the alarm goes off. So you're triggering your own alarm every time you open the mailbox to get the mail. There should be a setting that allows the alarm to be triggered only once a day, or mutes it for a while after it initially goes off, or turns it off completely at certain times of day.But overall it works, and the one inconvenience that threatened its usefulness was solved with a higher quality adhesive.

Too sensitive
**last update**This has been giving a false alarm every 3 minutes so I'm done with it.**update** for some reason right after I reviewed and requested a return for this it started working. It alerts when the mail is delivered but I do check my informed delivery to make sure the reason it alerted is my mail and not my neighbors mail. (Our mailboxes are on the same post so their box being opened shakes our box apparently).Only works if mailbox door is slammed shut. We only get notified when we check the mail, not when it's delivered.

Reliable mail notifications
Works perfectly! Once triggered, the base station will flash red until the notification is cleared which is a helpful reminder.

Works great, except in high winds
The only issue that I have with it, is that the notification/base alarm go off CONSTANTLY when the wind is blowing hard, even though the mailbox lid is closed. And by hard, I mean that we have a lot of 25-35mph winds with 45-50mph gusts here and that sets it off about every 2 minutes during times when the wind is at that level. I thought that the alarm only with off with the mailbox lid being opened, but apparently the lid vibrating with the wind is enough to set it off too. Not a big issue but, that's the only reason that I removed a single star. Mind you, it's flat asMy mailbox is approx 100-150ft from my house, and it always alerts when the mail arrives...alarm on the base unit, and notifications on my phone.

Happy with purchase.
Great range and works well. I’ve converted all my smoke/CO detectors to X-Sense and added a couple water sensors and a mailbox sensor. Very happy with the Xsense.
