This Cookbook Will Save You a Ton of Time
Speaking of time, I don't leave a lot of Amazon reviews because it's so time-consuming, but I had to for this one. This book has saved me so much time that I feel like I should pay more. ;) I bought this cookbook because my 83-year-old mother-in-law moved into our home, and she's used to eating 3 meals a day. My husband and I don't normally eat that much, but I wanted to provide what she was used to, so I was thrust into a world of cooking more than usual.I work full time from home, so you'd think it would be easy, but it's not. I decided I would have to figure out a way to cook meals ahead of time and store them in the freezer so I could just pull them out as needed.I've collected a lot of cookbooks over the years. I'm really impressed with this one. First of all, not everything freezes well. I remember I froze some apples a few years ago, and they were gross when I thawed them. Freezing foods correctly is definitely an art form.In addition to learning which foods can be frozen, I learned from this cookbook that there's a certain way to wrap them before putting them into the freezer to avoid freezer burn. The author also puts tips for power-cooks who want to spend an entire day cooking so they don't have to cook again for a while. I've been doing that on Saturdays. I cook 5 or 6 of these recipes and store them for the next week. It's genius!!!Now to the recipes. They are really, really good, like the title suggests. I'll list a few of my favorites below.1. Savory Salmon in Foil - This recipe is literally the best baked salmon I've ever tasted. In addition to that, you store the salmon fillets in the freezer in individual packets, so you can pull out 2 or 3 or whatever you need. The remaining salmon fillets can remain frozen. In this recipe, you prepare each salmon fillet in a piece of foil. I mean everything, including the spices and lemon slices on top of the salmon. Then you wrap each one. After thawing, I cook it exactly like the instructions suggest, and it's D E L I C I O U S !!! I've made this recipe several times. It's definitely my number one fave in this book.2. Sweet and Sour Meatballs - My husband likes these meatballs so much that he usually eats a bunch of them before I can even get them into the freezer. In this recipe, you make homemade sweet and sour sauce. Omg, it's so easy and goooood! It doesn't have any weird ingredients either. This one has also become a staple for us. Loooove this one!3. Honey Pork Chops - I think this is the easiest recipe in this book, and they'll be the best pork chops you've ever made. The instructions say to store the 6 pork chops in the sauce in a large ziploc in the freezer. I store 2 ziplocs with 3 pork chops in each in the freezer, so I can stretch this into 2 meals.Actually, I do that with most of the recipes in this book. I divide them into 2 freezer meals because we don't eat that much. These pork chops are juicy and amazing! You'll love them. There's a recipe from this book that I haven't made yet, but I'm about to make it. It's called "Cauliflower Crave Soup." It looks so good in the pictures. Oh, that's another thing, there's a full color picture for each recipe, which I love. I've never gotten into those cookbooks that don't have any pictures.I don't know this author, but in case she reads this review, I'd like to thank you for making this cookbook. It's made a huge impact on our life! Our whole family loves it! xo

Easy to Read/Use - LOVE it
Seriously GREAT!! Amazing selection of recipes, well-written and the pictures are awesome as well. Made several freezer meals from this so far and have not been disappointed. This actually saves time in meal preparation in my view.

Tasty recipes - super convenient!
I love this book - the recipes are really really good. I love that it scales them up for you to make big batches. Also it’s great that it gives you the option to cook now or make it a freezer meal.I’ve seen a few reviews that say it doesn’t save time but plenty that do. This is for someone who doesn’t mind batch cooking and prepping. I feel like - if I’m going to dirty dishes I may as well do it all at once! This saves us on weeknights. Love having options! The recipes also have a ton of variety which is awesome.A few points:The standard recipe size I find is about 2 dinners worth for my 2 adult 2 small kids family. It’s been helpful to make half for dinner to try the recipe and then freeze the second portion.Would absolutely love it if it gave you a guide on what type of kitchen equipment you’d need for each recipe. These recipes don’t include prep/cook time in the description like many recipes. This doesn’t bother me, but some people may feel upset about it.

Love the taquitos!
I have tried about a dozen recipes so far. The taquitos were such a hit with the entire family.Everything I made, we tried fresh then again frozen, and were happy with both end results.I appreciate all the extra tips and tricks that are included in this book. My only negative is that there’s no nutritional information (calories, carbs, protein, etc) I know I can do it myself, and have been and adding notes in the book, but it would be nice to have a general idea.

Well organized and useful.
If you are in to freezer meals, this is a great book. Extremely well organized in so many ways. The recipes aren’t “too out there” for my tastes and a great variety. I’ve already made a few double batches and it’s great the way each recipe is scaled for how many batches you are making. I think this is a cook book I will actually use.Directions are given for making it a freezer meal and for preparing right away which is great for slowly building a freezer stash, of course there are suggestions in the book for doing a lot of freezer recipes at one time as well.

Best Cook Book EVER!
PSA: *DON'T START WITH THE HAM SOUP*I've made a dozen or more of the recipes from this book in the two months I've had it and they are all incredible. The sausage and gnocchi soup is my favorite, closely followed by the empanadas. I'm quite the stickler for wanting to feel like my food is healthy (ie: there are excess vegtables and no excessive sugar/fats). This book is great for that (other than sugars in the desserts, but dessert without sugar is simply sad). I normally dread cooking and this book has been insanely inspiring! It's also inspired me to turn other favorite recipes into freezer meals with confidence. I couldn't recommend this book enough. However! I have no idea how the ham hock soup made the cut for this book. My husband is a champion at eating whatever I make and the look on his face when he ate the ham-and-water soup was so miserable... Luckily, I'd also made the twice-baked potatoes, and the meal was salvaged. But definitely don't start with the ham soup because it'll leave a bad taste in your mouth 😉😉😉 that the rest of the book doesn't deserve.
