Panasonic HC-V380EG-K Full HD Camcorder (Full HD, 50x Optical Zoom, 28 mm Wide Angle, Optical 5-Axis Image Stabiliser Hybrid OIS+ WiFi) Black

It is an excellent camera. But as usual, the user manual was written by 'nerds' and covers all models of the camera - so it is difficult to ignore some bits! Also the said manual is so compact it is hard to read the print! I'm sure I could get it off the Panasonic web site but I needed to get the camera in action a.s.a.p.

Received as agreed. No English instructions but eight foreign languages booklets included. Messaged supplier who to be fair sent a link to read the English instructions online. Used the camera to video a football match before receiving the English instructions but the settings were wrong as the camera kept highlighting I was panning too fast. I was going to return the camera but once I was able to read set up I was able to set the camera to how I wanted it to work. Formatting the SD card and settings to work with my Apple iMac has made a big difference on quality and also no panning problems as the camera is used twice at the weekend to video both grandsons playing football with their teams. Remember patience to learn helps!!!!.

I want to produce some videos for an historical blog and vlog shot in both indoor and outdoor locations. Having virtually no experience of using camcorders, I took advice from a professional photographer and video producer about what to purchase. TBF, he's suffering from a very serious medical issue which may have affected this process. However, owning a Panasonic camera of very similar appearance himself, I think he assumed an on camera mount and input for an external shotgun mike would be a standard feature of the brand. It isn't... but we only learned this upon unboxing and that's not good. I'm elderly and suffer from reading difficulties following two strokes. Understanding technology is particularly difficult and confusing. After the disappointment of discovering the lack of an external microphone facility, I discovered that I had to ask that specific question of the camera within the product information technical details section on the Amazon website. I had not anticipated this. I did not know that such a facility existed or that it would be necessary to ask that question. When making the original choice, my confusion had been exacerbated by images of alternative, cheaper, products in the "Products related to this item" section, which included external microphones as part of a video package (e.g., Camcorder 4K Video Camera 48MP 60FPS). I therefore assumed that the more expensive Panasonic product was being compared with cheaper products possessed of similar capabilities that included, however, a cheap on camera microphone. Although unintended, this sort of direct and immediate comparison of different products by Amazon can be rather more misleading than helpful. Therefore, my original purchase included both the HC-V380EG-K and RØDE VideoMicro II Ultra-Compact On-Camera Shotgun Microphone which, I subsequently discovered, cannot be fitted. Fundamentally, I do wish Panasonic and Amazon tabulated, in an immediate and simple fashion, exactly what basic design features are either available or not, both on and in their products. Altogether a painful piece of learning. Anyway, back to Amazon the camcorder goes. I know nothing of its qualities, it might be excellent in other circumstances but I've not even charged it. Basically, It's not fit for my purpose. I'm left with the stress of returning the thing and trying to figure out what to buy which is rather more complicated a process than I hoped it would be. Especially with post-stroke complications. I do now wonder if I should be using Amazon at all. It doesn't make life easy. I need an old fashioned specialist shop with a knowledgable assistant offering face-to-face advice.

Non c'è parola migliore per definire questa camera: FANTASTICA. Sono sempre stato convinto della superiorità di Sony/JVC (a seconda delle tasche) nel campo delle videocamere. Complice l'avvento di Internet e dei video prova, avevo deciso di acquistare una Sony per sostituire la mia vecchia JVC rotta, oramai vecchia di più di 9 anni, quando mi sono accorto che Sony non aveva quello che cercavo. La tecnologia non è cambiata molto in questo lasso di tempo, ma gli stabilizzatori sono radicalmente diversi. Questa macchina, rispetto alle offerte Sony/JVC della stessa fascia è davvero competitiva: immagini vivide e non ultra-saturate. Incredibile l'impatto visivo una volta trasferita l'immagine su uno schermo più grande. Connettività attraverso Wi-Fi, App Android e HDMI (mini) al top. L'App di Android non è proprio intuitiva, ma fa il suo lavoro, mi spiace non abbia la possibilità di creare GeoTag. La videocamera usa schede SD (supporta SDXC) che rendono la registrazione semplice, non ingombrante. Il formato di registrazione è AVCHD. Lo sportello è posizionato nel lato inferiore e senza molle o impedimenti, molto semplice da accedere e difficile da toccare inavvertitamente durante la registrazione. Il display è touchscreen (il menù è un po' complicato venendo da Sony, ma ci si fa l'abitudine). Il meccanismo di chiusura dell'obiettivo, un guscio di plastica inserito all'interno dello chassis, permette di lasciare finalmente a casa i fastidiosi coperchi penzolanti, un ottima aggiunta! Ma il vero punto forte di questa macchina è lo zoom: 50x ottico, 90x "intelligente". Lo zoom ottico è davvero superbo assieme allo stabilizzatore, il cosiddetto "zoom intelligente" è una trovata di Panasonic per combinare ottico e digitale, producendo uno zoom di capacità superiore a quello ottico senza avere obiettivi telescopici, e allo stesso tempo senza la perdita di capacità del digitale o l'introduzione di granulosità. In un articolo leggevo che questa è "la macchina per chi piace stare al centro dell'azione", non lo ritenni importante quando lo lessi, a posteriori sono rimasto sbalordito. Arrivati a questo punto vi chiederete perché non parlo molto della qualità delle riprese, semplice: le immagini parlano da sole. Basta andare a cercare video su Internet per rendersi conto immediatamente delle capacità di questa macchina rispetto ai concorrenti. Non sono in grado di esprimere la soddisfazione relativa a questo articolo con una semplice recensione, quindi vi rimando ai video di prova per saggiare voi stessi. Ultima pecca è il caricatore, mi sarebbe molto piaciuto un USB o ancora meglio un USB-C, purtroppo è il solito spinotto (finalmente in una posizione decente però, sul lato e coperto da un portellino) ma nulla che possa impedirmi di dare 5 stelle a questo fantastico prodotto.
