not worth the $600
I was sitting in my vehicle waiting to go riding with friends my bike was stolen off the bike in 2 seconds. the bike had a padlock on the strap and the cable was locked into the provided locking mechanism. it took a thief only seconds to cut and remove the bicycle. I only felt the thief struggling to remove the arm arm to get off the bike when i was then able to see what was happening. I called Thule. THEY SAID " Not are problem" we use inferior cabling and straps to give the buyer a sense of security. I RECOMMEND YOU BY A $40 BIKE RACK FROM HARBOR FREIGHT AND USE A CHAIN THAT CANNOT BE CUT IN 2 SECONDS WITH YOU IN YOUR VEHICLE. IT IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY THEY CHARGE TOU. GIVES YOU A FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY AND NOT THE SECURITY DESCRIBED IN THE BROCHURE. THEY WANT $300 TO REPAIRED THE DAMAGED PARTS THAT WAS CAUSED BY A$5 CABLE CUTTER IN 2 SECONDS.

Cable locks are worthless
At first glance seem to be well-designed. That is until I tried to pull the cable lock out to discover that it is barely held on with a flimsy plastic Tab and at the first pull the entire thing broke off. More importantly the cable itself is not truly connected to anything substantial. Total cosmetic and a waste for security sake we will not be using it.

... until I decided on this one and I am glad I did
I spent months researching bike racks until I decided on this one and I am glad I did. This bike rack is awesome!! I use it on the back of my Mercedes GL450. It is easy to get on and off and it holds my Cerevelo triathlon bike as well as my husbands Trek bike without issue. Once we have them on they really do not more at all. It take a little over 5 minutes for us to put the rack in the hitch, lock it in, load both bikes and lock them up. Yes the first two or three times took longer but now we can do it pretty quickly. Once the rack is on it can be pulled down out of the way of the back door if you need to open the back without taking the rack or bikes off. It has a lock for the rack to the hitch part and also for each bike. I have had bike on it for 6 plus hour drives with no issue whatsoever - once on they just don't move!! It looks great on the back of the car and it has been a great purchase. I am glad I took the time to research it before spending the money. This was a great choice. You will not regret buying this bike rack.

Fantastic Bike Rack
After struggling with several of the "hanging" style hitch-mount bike racks which really don't fit our cruiser bikes very well at all, we finally invested in the flatbed-style T2 Pro XT -- and what a difference it makes! This rack is absolutely rock-solid when attached to the hitch and the bikes mount easily and quickly. The rack is expensive, no question -- but after owning it for a couple of months now (and it's gotten heavy use) we are totally thrilled with it. One note: the rack is *heavy* -- my wife (who is very fit, but not all that strong) really struggles to get it on and off of the car hitch by herself.

Product failed within a couple months, customer support has no urgency to get it fixed.
Handle to tighten bike into trailer hitch stopped working after only a couple months. As I would tighten or loosen it, the handle would just click. I contacted Thule Customer Support and was told I had to file a claim online. After one week I called back for an update and was told they approved the claim but I needed to email them my shipping address (already part of the original claim). Today I called back and was told they just need to put the shipping address into their system for the order to go out. I received a replacement part a few days later, but it wasn’t even close to the part I needed. Two weeks in and I’m still waiting for the correct part to be shipped out.

Good product but assembly instructions provided are poor
I put it together today and looks like it is well build and looking forward to using it. The assembly instructions are horrible. It is a simple document with hand drawings and no written details at all. Important information such as using the dummy key provided to install the lock cores is missing. There is also no assembly video provided on line. I would think that considering the cost of these units THULE would invest in a real assembly instruction document or video.

worked for 1 month
its a pricey rack and i was hesitant to buy, but since it was so highly rated i thought why not. so the product holds bikes well but unfortunately the mechanism to tilt the rack has broken after only a handful of uses. i had the bikes on the back of the car, got to the trail took them off and it wouldn't fold up. when you pull the handle you can feel it clicking and see something in the housing move, but clearly something else isn't connecting or is jammed as it wont budge. so now i have an overpriced platform rack that wont fold up. i cant leave it extended in the lot where we have to park so now the last two weekends of summer, i cant bring the kids to ride bikes on the trail or boardwalk. oh and thule support isn't around on the weekends, so another 2 days of waiting until i can even start to get this resolved. extremely disappointed.

Durable and sturdy
I've spent hours researching a platform type rack for my plus size tire mountain bikes. Thule meets all family requirements. It supports all bike sizes out of the box, from 20" kids bikes and up to adult 29" fat tire with 5-inch wide tires. Works with road bikes the same way. There's nothing extra to purchase. No additional tinkering, it just works. The built quality is like everything Thule. High end materials, good looking design, well-thought in every aspect. I've been choosing between Saris Superclamp EX, Kuat NV 2.0, and this Thule. Almost ordered Saris for being the most compact for four bikes carrier, but was worried about hitch wobbling in its construction and multiple reviews with complains about it, the other thing about Saris was wheel cages that are hanging baskets vs Thule having them mounted on top of the metal base, which is much more reliable, in my opinion. I've seen reviews about Saris wheel cages breaking and cracking under the weight of the bike.Kuat was a nice choice as well, but had some issues with extra adapters needed for far tires and kids bikes support. Overall, the best platform racks for me were Kuat and Thule with Thule being more universal and Kuat having a sleek design and similar built quality. Thule won the competition. It feels durable and is going to last for years.

It is far superior to any other carrier I have ever used and ...
I have had ZERO regrets since spending the extra money on this Thule carrier. It is far superior to any other carrier I have ever used and when you spend as much money on bikes as I have... you want to protect your investment. This carrier fastens to the car easily, snugly, and has a bonus locking feature that I don't imagine could be outsmarted by a thief.Loading bikes onto this carrier is simple as can be. Loading bikes takes less than 30 seconds per bike and makes no contact with the frame at all. The ratcheting mechanism onto the front wheel feels very secure and the strap onto the back wheel feels very sturdy and adds a sense of security. The trays can be adjusted extremely easily to accommodate different lengths and sizes of bikes. I have secured race tri bikes, road bikes, and mountain bikes to this carrier with ease and peace of mind. The built-in cable lock for each bike is very easy to use and I am sure an excellent deterrent for thieves. However, it is still just a cable lock and I am confident any prepared or determined thief could cut the cable so I would never leave my bikes outside for a length of time. I would however feel comfortable leaving them unattended while filling up for gas etc. Conveniently the locks use the same key as the lock use to secure the carrier to the vehicle (less keys to lose). The tilting feature is super easy to use and allows easy access to the hatch on my 2016 Nissan Rogue even with mountain bikes on board. It also folds up when not in use and has a low profile making me confident it won't be hit by other motorists or while turning sharply (stays close to the vehicle).Bottom Line: I am sure there are other capable and comparable carriers out there such as the Saris SuperClamp Ex but I promise you won't regret the decision to purchase this carrier. I will update should I come across any issues over time.

Thule should build in additional stability.
I had to add some stability to keep the bikes from hitting each other. I also have to remove the batteries from the bikes to be within the capacity limit. I also use straps to tie the tires down to avoid a catastrophe.

Seguro, resistente y fácil de utilizar .
Excelente, más robusto que el Thule Classic . Más fácil de manipular. Más seguro.

As advertised, no surprises. Good quality.
I like that it is able to handle 5" tires. No problem with tires of smaller size. Although a little on the heavy side, it is fairly easy to take out and put in the trailer hitch. The system of locking the rack in the hitch without a bolt seems to work and has a safety "hook". Nice not to attach something to the frame to secure the bike.
