Broken
Rod showed up on time as promised however the top eye was missing on the rod and the reel didn't have a handle attatched. I expected better from a company such as Quantam, I would give it a zero star if I could.

Tip arrived broken, but its a great reel and rod combo
Was sad that the rod and reel arrived in a box without any padding and the tip of the rod was broken. I ended up getting the same combo at my local store and am very impressed so far. Comparing it to my Penn Spinfisher VI it casts just as well, but feels slightly less smooth. Not as pretty but you save a lot of $$. Time will tell how well this reel holds up. Might update review in a year or two. Also was surprised by the low lure weight rating on the rod but it seems to cast 1/2 oz soft baits excellently without overloading the rod. 40 yards is no problem with an aerodynamic lure and 15 lb braid.---------4 month update- has been a great combo. Have caught flounder and good size redfish without issue. Casting distance is superb with 15lb braid, can sling a 5" soft bait or Spook Jr 50 yards!

Disappointed
Delayed 3 days on shipping not a big deal just a little annoying. real is decent, Quality is cut in some corners like in the bell and drag. not to bad tho giving 1 star because you sent a real with no handle got everything ready to go fishing. got the rod and real and no handle sending iT back. restock your inventory, slacking

Nice Quality
A recent purchase to add to the fishing arsenal. This rod/reel combo is of good quality at this price point . The seven foot rod is sturdily built and if I can keep from breaking the tip off it is going to be fun using . It helps me cast a lot further than my shorter rods . Only con.. You must keep an eye on the reel mounting ring as it loosens a bit after long periods of use. The reel is great . Smooth action in both casting and reeling modes . Again , you can get better but at this price point this is a winner .
