My laptop cord just gave a big sigh of relief
I ordered this 15-foot sleeve to protect the cord for my poor laptop. The laptop power cord has a bump on it inconveniently placed about 6 inches from where it plugs into the laptop. The bump is called a "ferrite bead" and is there to reduce electrical interference in the power cord, which can act as a sort of antenna for electromagnetic static. The problem is that this ferrite bead was thoughtlessly (stupidly) designed with abrupt edges at a right angle to the cord, thus making it easily caught on the edge of my coffee table. The cable has been caught on the table so many times, that it has pulled loose the plug-hole inside of the laptop (thereby making it very difficult to plug in).In an effort to reduce further damage, I ordered this sleeve to cover the ridiculously designed ferrite bead. With the sleeve, there is now a gentle slope where there had previously been an abrupt angle. I should have done this years ago.An added benefit is that if one of my dogs is standing or laying on the cord, I can still move the laptop freely because the cord is able to slide back and forth a bit through the sleeve. So there is no more stress on the plug or cord.It did take me some time to put the sleeve over the laptop cord. I had to peel the sleeve open a half inch at a time, then slip some more cord into it. It was a pleasant chore to do sitting on the couch while watching the news. I am unaware of any trick or strategy to apply the sleeve to make it any easier or quicker. The sleeve is very well made and quickly springs back to its tubular shape. It is a little bit stretchy and has some 'give' which provides added flexibility.I still have an extra 11 feet left over to help protect some of my charging cords from getting tangled in the vacuum roller. Speaking of my vacuum, there are spots along the vacuum power cord that have been getting worn through repetitive winding. I believe this cord sleeve can offer protection for those spots from further wear. Soon, I may find that I need to reorder more of this product.I would highly recommend this product.

Did a great job in tidying up multiple cables connected to my TV on a rolling stand
For years I had my TV sitting on a big glass console. This rather dominated a long narrow family room. We just replaced this with a steel rolling TV stand. The idea was that we could park the TV in a corner of the room to create space and just wheel it out into the viewing position as needed. This approach seemed to work well but there was a large number of cables that had to be dragged along as the TV was wheeled out giving a very messy look to the system. I ordered this split sleeving in an attempt to create an umbilical to hold the cables in a way that was neat and easy to move around. This split sleeving is offered in a choice of diameters. I wasn’t sure which one to order but had several cables to fit inside the umbilical (power, loudspeaker, ethernet, and HDMI), so I ordered the ¾” diameter x 15-ft length product. This turned out to be the perfect choice for my needs. The 15-ft length was more than enough to create the umbilical I needed and there was enough left over to use in dressing more of the cables on the TV stand itself. The ¾” diameter was more than enough to hold several bulky cables – I found it could be expanded up to almost 1.5” without affecting its performance. The cables are securely held inside the polyester sleeving which is pre-tensioned as a spiral. The springiness is surprisingly strong and cables are not able to slip out of the sleeving unless deliberately pulled. Once the cables are inserted into the sleeving, the installation looks quite neat and tidy – there’s no longer a rat’s nest of wires connected to the TV. I used zip-ties to retain the newly formed umbilical to the posts on the TV stand. This sleeving did a great job on my TV setup. I will be ordering more of this material (but of lower diameter) to tidy up my desktop PC and my 3D printer.

Good for larger bundles of cables.
I have an odd setup in my home office. My tower computer sits in a basement window alcove and my desk sits below it. As a result, I have power, a monitor and USB cables that run down the side of the wall and down to the desk. Since I have 3 monitors, it’s a little bit unsightly. Before this, I had some smaller cord sleeves, but I ended up needing 3 to accommodate all of the cables. This made it look just a bit better, but not great. I got these to try to get it down to a single cable look.On the positive size, this sleeve accommodates several more cables and allowed me to encase most of mine. The materials is very flexible, but it doesn’t fold back on itself as securely as the smaller (but thicker) ones that I had. The result is that the final product is a bit kinked because the power cables (specifically the one for my power strip) are thick and strong. Still, it hides the cables better than the setup I had before.I wish these were a bit thicker/stronger for the reasons I mentioned, and I do have some concern that the braids that make this up aren’t going to be very strong over time. This shouldn’t be a concern for me, because I don’t plan on changing my setup much or very often. That being said, someone who frequently makes changes to their cabling might want to consider a different solution.Overall, I am quite pleased with this cable sleeve. It works well for my application, and it seems to be holding reasonably well. Like any type of cable management solution, you should understand your use case before you start tearing things down and putting them back together. Still, for the right solution (few or infrequent changes to cabling), this should work well.
