Purchased and had professionally installed. Plumber said it was a straight-foward install, I think it's more important (probably) the tiler slopes the bed of the shower properly, which mine did. We remodeled a shower that for 7 years was fine, after the install of the drain the water started to back up. At first we wondered if construction debris had gone down the pipe/drain, but as soon as we removed the grate, water flowed easily as it always had done. We removed the hair trap/strainer and have had no problems with water flow since. I personally don't want to have to remove the grate and clean out the hair trap/strainer after EVERY shower, which is what you have to do if you keep it in. Conceptually, the idea of the hair trap/strainer makes sense, but I don't find it works well in reality. I love the grate, it's very stylish and after 9 months and the shower is used 2x/day, it still looks new. I would buy QM Drain products again, I would just nix the hair trap/strainer.

Ordered this for a bathroom Reno that wasn't scheduled until Feb. The package had been resealed, so I didn't know until we went to install that it was missing parts. Return window is closed, so this was a waste of money.

the top is nice stainless steel and it snaps in ( no screws ) the lower part is a little thin - but once it is set in place should not matterthe one with a stainless lower part may be the one to order - but it cost 2 times the price
