Key Words: 3a Things we like

These books are very handy at introducing new words to a child’s vocabulary. They are basic and quite repetitive but it’s an easy way to pick up new words for children. The illustrations are also really nice and colourful. Not loads of pages but just enough for this purpose and to keep a child’s attention.

These little books are so useful for reinforcing key vocabulary. They move along quickly with loads of repetition so little ones stay interested and know that they are improving as they finish each page. Easy to use for both parent and child!

Bought flashcards and books 1a to 3a. Used for my children over 30 years ago and now my grandchildren will learn with them. They have phonics flashcards but I still believe that word recognition starting with the basics is still the most effective way to learn. This is how we learn a second language. Would definitely recommend. Can still be fun, many ways to use the cards. Simple and effective.

Just a brilliant series for teaching kids to read before they get to school.

A brilliant series for teaching children how to read. My children who are just learning to read, love them and the beautiful illustrations that accompany the text. Also it is nice for children to read books that are just about everyday life and things they can relate to. I would highly recommend this series to anyone who would like to teach their children to read.

I used to have these books when I was a child and hunted them out for our daughter. She loves them and loves seeing what new words she has learnt on each page.

Ladybird Key Words 3a is the next step in the reading scheme. Always interesting content for young children and the perfect follow on from book 2b.

Our 3 and 4 year-old grandchildren enjoyed it. It is simple and it is effective.

I can not recommend these books enough. My 4+ yr kid learned to read with the "Key Words" series of books published by Ladybird. The systematic approach is very good and the pictorial presentation along with the reading really help the kid to learn and understand rather memorize it. I feel so great when my kid read small sentences from the newspaper and major credit goes to "Ladybird" for this GREAT reading material for kids. I am now buying complete set. Hope this review is helpful in your decision making.
