the these things work as long as you use them the right way if not you'll melt them in seconds I have a 2013 Ford Fusion and without these things my car will have to be dug out of the driveway every time it snow but now I just Put these in front of the drive tires and step on the gas gently and a way I go every time so these do work but be warned if you spin the tires on top of these things by being too aggressive even for one second they're made out of plastic so they'll disintegrate and leave a nice flat smooth surface making them useless

I worked at FedEx in the Northwest where we have lots of snow, and we had these in our trucks to get us out of ditches, or other places where we just couldn't get enough traction. They work like a charm every time! They are made to be placed in front of the drive axle wheels, just be sure NOT to gun the engine as it will turn these into air born missiles! Time and time again I was surprised how well these things worked, even on our big heavy trucks. If you drive a lot in bad weather, I would really recommend these!

Bought two sets of these because we head out to the beach alot and saw alot of good reviews. I had to use them yesterday because we were getting stuck in the hard sand. However, they didn't work. After setting them up under my front tires and then slowly giving the gas, all the pads do were get flung under the tires and out the back. They did not help in any way. Don't waste your money.

This is one of those items that you keep in the trunk for emergencies. I just wish they folded, but I think that would have an impact on their performance. An excellent product.

what a great item! It really saved us this year from getting stuck in the snow! Would highly reccommend this to everyone.

I do believe that the guy who tried using them in the sand truly did not know how to use these. I bought a set of orange portable tow truck a couple of years ago and had my first opportunity to use them this summer when I got my lawn tractor stuck in the mud. I placed them in front of the drive tires and they performed perfectly; less than five minutes to get completely out of the mud. More recently, last week my daughter got stuck in a snow filled ditch alongside the road. The snow was a foot deep and I had doubts about getting her out of the ditch with these since the car frame was touching the snow. I had her car out of the ditch in less than five minutes. These mats are wonderful and perform as well as expected and beyond. The key is to properly use them. Make sure they are right side up and properly positioned next to the drive wheel. Then gingerly ease on the gas pedal gradually giving more gas. Once on the mats keep moving until out of the snow or mud. I would strongly recommend getting a set of these for mud, snow or sand.
