excellent value
Saffron is a difficult item to evaluate, the “real saffron” is incredibly expensive and out of reach, but this product will do the job if flavor and aroma are the goals of making paella,

An acceptable quality saffron
I have generally used saffron as a garnish on sweets and at times to add a bit of color when making the chicken rice. This saffron itself did not have any specific taste profile (was a bit bitter and I did not taste any sweet notes). It did have the vibrant color and while I could smell some floral notes, they were very mild.I have tasted Persian saffron so it could be that this Spanish one is not at the same level and comparison may not be fair. But, for the price point and availability this is an okay option.

Heat a large fry pan with a medium-high heat and add in 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil, after 1 minute add in all the cut vegetables, mix with the olive oil, after 8 minutes and the onion & zucchini are translucent and the rest of the veggies are tender, add in 1 tsp sweet smoked paprika, 1/4 tsp saffron threads and season generously with sea salt & black pepper, mix together until well combined, then add in 1 cup round rice and 1 1/2 tbsp freshly chopped thyme, mix together once again, then add in 3 cups vegetable broth and 1/4 cup frozen peas, give it one last mix and simmer on a medium-high heat. After about 10 minutes and you can see a lot of the broth has been incorporated into the rice, lower the fire to a low-medium heat and simmer for another 3 to 5 minutes or until all the broth has been incorporated into the rice, then remove the pan from the heat, cover with a dishcloth and let it rest for a couple minutes, remove the dishcloth and serve at once, enjoy!⭐️1 star - I don't recommend it at all, poor quality.⭐️⭐️ 2 stars - I don't recommend it, it has multiple faults, or a very high price.⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars - It's passable, It has some faults but the quality is ok for what it is.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars - Product quite acceptable, it does what it promises.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars - Product that I totally recommend.

Brings back memories of when mom made saffron rice at home
When I was a kid saffron rice at home was a treat because saffron was incredibly expensive. When this was available to order for a Vine product review I had to get it to make rice at home.PROS* really good quality saffron* VERY good price of $12.99 as a tiny bit goes a long way* expires 1/3/2026 so will last a long time* perfect for rice and other recipesCONS* if it wasn't for my mom telling me how to use it I'd have had to look it up because there are no instructions, not even basic, on containerHIGHLY RECOMMEND! This is a wonderful product for any kitchen!

Seems To Be Great Quality
I haven't actually used this yet because I forgot to get rice while I was out shopping, but I do think this is good quality saffron by the way it looks and smells. It definitely looks fresh and the expiration date reflects that as well. I can't wait to actually use it. I will update if I encounter any issues with it, but I have a really high opinion of it now and would get this brand again when needed.

Quality Saffron
I had been wanting some saffron to use at home cooking for a while. Saw it in the store a few times, but so costly for so little. This is a much better value. This saffron smells and tastes exactly as expected. I like to use saffron in many food dishes, but also add to some of my homemade teas. This is quality tasting saffron.

Small Jar, Seems Good
I'm not as knowledgeable about saffron as I hope to be soon, this is my first time cooking with it at all. But what I can say is that some of the most delightful ice cream I've had, was flavored with saffron, and that is what I will be attempting to make myself with this. It arrived well sealed, smells interesting, sort of like molasses, slightly chemical too, but i looked this up and it is very characteristic of saffron to smell this way due to certain phytochemicals in its make-up, so this odd scent has nothing to do with the processing of it, and everything to do with the uniqueness of the plant fronds themselves. I am very excited to try this finally! Small jar, ( see photo) but that is to be expected with saffron. A little bit goes a long way!
