Not tow bad
I bought this so I could add a Reese hitch on my truck instead of a bumper hitch. It’s more for a real basic step bumper like on an old Ford pickup or something. Since my truck is newer I had to do some modifications. The product came quickly and it was affordable and it is heavy duty. I think it’s going to work great.

Does not fit Ranger/mazda b series
Bought this for my 96 mazda b2300, which is basically a Ranger. It is too wide for this particular bumper. The mounting holes come dangerously close to the edges of the bumpers, i wouldnt trust it. This however is a vehicle specific problem, works fine on wider bumpers I had some doubts about just bolting a hitch to the bumper instead of installing it to the frame but it's rated higher than both the bumper itself and the truck's towing capacity. It went on really easy on my friends truck and works great for light towing. Definitely worth it for the 16.99$ i paid for it

Paint destroyed in shipping
I purchased this product before. It is a quality built product. Both times the paint finish was beat to hell by the hardware bag banging around during shipping.

Inexpensive hitch works great
Mounted this to the front bumper of my YJ Jeep Wrangler. Great functionality for a low price! It usually holds a homemade 6-rod holder but works just as good for my basket carrier (loaded to ~250lbs), when towing my popup trailer on the rear. This low profile hitch doesn't reduce my front approach angle at all as it's still hangs ~1" higher than my front shackle mounts.Note on Jeep Wrangler front bumper installation: It has 4x mounting holes but the 2x rear bolt holes will not line up w/ the bumper. It comes w/ steel backing "chunks" ~1"x2" but I had to fabricate a full size steel backing plate to ensure maximum load capability when using the basket carrier up front. Still a great deal considering the functionality it adds for only a $25 investment.

If you do not have the means to drill it to fit you had better pass it up unless you have someone who will ...
I was gonna make this for my older S10 Blazer when I seen these already made. Its well constructed and mine was an open box sale but the hitch was new and priced cheaper than my time to do the cutting and welding to make. I plan on in the future to make a custom 4x4 rear bumper and will use this on it as well. You will need to drill holes in your bumper to mount this tho. If you do not have the means to drill it to fit you had better pass it up unless you have someone who will do it for you. FYI it is best to go ahead and buy grade 8 bolts to be safe. If it breaks loose you could murder an innocent bistandard.

Easy to install
Easily installed on a flat mount for lighter duty application. Utility trailer or bicycle rack that requires a 2" receiver.

High Quality Ruined By Poor Packaging
I purchased this to add the the rear bumper of my travel trailer. The trailer came with a 1-1/4" receiver, and I'm putting on a 1UP SuperDuty bike rack for two electric bicycles. So I needed a 2" receiver. The Reese Towpower 81378 is very heavy duty, and the welds look great. The powder coat appears thick, which would normally protect from rust. However, the bag of bolts, washers, and nuts are stuffed into the Reese packaging right on the hitch. So one side of the receiver and half the mounting plate are pitted from the fasteners bashing against them. It appears some minor rust has already started.I could return for an exchange, but I'm assuming they are all packed the same. Now debating whether to paint over it or return and try another brand. I realize that normally a hitch's appearance is not a consideration, but in this case it is in plain sight on top of an aluminum bumper. So rust would be an eyesore.
