I just received my new Vizio 40" Full HD Smart TV, and I’m very impressed. The picture quality is excellent — bright, clear, and sharp with vibrant colors. Setup was quick and easy, and I was especially surprised by how strong the Wi-Fi reach is. It picks up my network better than my previous TVs and streams smoothly without buffering. All of the smart features work exactly as advertised, and it truly seems to deliver everything the manufacturer claims. Overall, this TV is a great value and performs exceptionally well. I’m very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it.

Great picture, great sound and great value! This TV makes a wonderful bedroom tv. Easy to set up and with this model you can still attach a window antenna for free news! Shoppers tip, don't buy used smart tvs if avoidable because you never know what unseen damage might've been done. Highly recommend!

I had read some reviews about this tv before I purchased it. Some good some bad. So I didn't really know what I was gonna get myself into. I took the chance for the price. TV came yesterday. I took it out of the box and the first thing I noticed was how small the bezels were and how lite the TV was. The bezels are almost non existent. I hooked it up set it up and hooked up the ps4. Adjusted the picture settings and DAMN this has a really picture. I haven't had one problem yet. And I hope I don't. I'm really happy with the purchase so far. If you looking for good, cheap TV with a beautiful picture and some good specs I'd look into this tv. You won't be let down.

I saw several complaints about the sound quality, and "You'll need a soundbar or some kind of external speaker(s)", but that wasn't the case at all. The sound quality on this TV actually isn't bad at all. That was the only thing holding me back from purchasing it, so I didn't have very high hopes going in. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. Not that it sounds right up there with the best or anything like that, because it doesn't and it isn't, but the average user shouldn't have any problem with the sound quality straight out of the box. The picture quality is equally as surprising. It's a 1080p TV, so don't expect mind blowing clarity, but for what it is and what it costs, it's really nice, and with all kinds of settings that I've never heard of. I actually did very little in the way of setting this thing up. I remember reading somewhere just a few days ago that Vizio TVs are factory preset to the taste of individual countries that they ship them to, and after reading that, it made sense to me why there was very little adjustment necessary. LOL I think I spent more time getting it out of the box than I did making adjustments. Setup was a breeze. It found my Wi-Fi immediately, I put my password in to get it connected, and inside of a few seconds, it was ready to go... or so I thought Naturally, the first thing it wanted to do was install a bunch of updates. Doesn't everything anymore? After downloading, installing, restarting, installing, restarting, installing, restarting, I was finally ready to do a channel scan. Yeah, I got cable TV out of my life over 20 years ago, and I haven't missed it one bit. The scan took three to four minutes and brought up like 48 channels. I'm still working on this input called Watch Free, and as near as I can tell, it's kind of a mix with your station presets and other select material probably based on those stations. In the 3+ weeks since delivery, I haven't experienced one flaw, lockup, random restart, random power down, glitch or hiccup out of it. There are a few little things about it that I'm not too thrilled about, namely the complete lack of RCA inputs, only two HDMI inputs, and when inputting channels on OTA TV using the number pad, it brings up an on-screen numberpad, but instead of intuitively hitting the center button, you have to use the arrow down to navigate to an area at the bottom of the on-screen keypad, and when you get to the correct tab, THEN hit the center button. Next, arguably the most used controls on the remote, the channel and volume keys... Why do they all now place those keys so low on the remote? Those keys are way down near the bottom to the point that you don't really have any room to hold onto the remote. The remote is also narrow, thin, short, and VERY slippery. Overall, I guess it's ok, but a universal remote is probably in my near future. As the title says, keep your expectations reasonable, and you shouldn't be disappointed. If you want a TV that performs like a $1000+ set, then go spend $1000 on a set, and you'll be just fine. As far as its current price tag of $138 is concerned, you're getting a LOT of TV for your money. EDIT: At almost two months in, I've been able to integrate it into my entertainment needs without much of any learning curve, and I'm still happy with my purchase.

Well, Vizio pulled a fast one on me. Last week I started receiving messages whenever I turned on my 9 year old 32" Vizio, that Netflix and other apps would no longer be supported. This means only satellite TV or old fashioned antennas would result in a picture. Since I cut the cable 2 years ago, this meant the perfectly working TV would be useless to me. I gave it to a friend who wanted it as a computer monitor. Because I have another Vizio and it gives me good sound and good picture for a reasonable price I decided to order this one. Set up was very simple. Adding streaming apps was fast and there are a LOT to chose from; both free and subscription. When I tuned it to a program, I thought the sound was kind of muffled and hard to hear without increasing the volume pretty high. So I went into the settings and under Audio there are 3 options for sound quality. Factory set up was the worst (muffled) option. I chose the option that produced clear, sharp annunciation without having high volume. Because of this, it's the best sound quality of any of my 3 current TVs. Picture is great and almost no lag time when changing programs or channels. I had no trouble with inserting the feet - screws and holes lined up perfectly. I am once again very happy with my Vizio TV. As each older TV bites the dust, each will be replaced with a Vizio.

If you need a small TV, I recommend this one. Easy set up, great picture quality, perfect size for small spaces. We have a small apartment so we didn't want something that would make it look even smaller. It would be the perfect size for a bedroom also. The smart features made it fairly easy to set up too, even for a senior like me. It has good sound quality too. Great value for your money!

I have been partial to the Vizio brand, my very first flat screen was a Vizio, but this purchase has me questioning that loyalty. The display color, brightness, etc are all very good. The Wi-Fi is pretty weak. The OS is garbage. It made me save all sorts of preferences for apps and such during setup, only to ignore everything I inputted. The OS displays ads and I don’t mean passive ads along the side like other smart OS do, I frequently turn on the tv and it opens to an ad I have to click through or instead of the screensaver kicking in, it’s a steady stream of ads. Unacceptable. The OS is also slow and frequently reboots itself while watching. Many of the apps are broken and often in unusual ways. The Fandango at Home app for instance will change ratios as you watch, from widescreen to box and back again. The remote seems to have limited range and the tv often lags in response which is problematic. My dad and uncle have older models and this version of the OS is much more polished and visually pleasing than earlier VizioOS versions but the ads and poor performance really overshadow the visual improvements. Ido like the naturescape and fireplace screensavers but they require double clicks to get back to the home screen which isn’t user friendly. The TV is extremely lightweight which is probably its greatest advantage, though it does have me wondering how durable it will be. All in all, I wouldnt purchase this tv again but if you’re on a budget and are planning to keep it close to the router, this will likely work for you. For me the ads are a deal breaker, it’s very unlikely I’ll buy another Vizio tv after this. I only purchase content specifically to avoid ads so I dont want them embedded in my TV’s OS. Again, these are not passive “click here for a deal” ads, these are commercials and click through ads.
