The floors in the home were being damaged by rolling chairs at desks. This thin, durable inexpensive mat was purchased and has done such a great job, I bought a second one for another desk location. Very happy with the results.

It works well. Only thing that it can improve is that the map slips once in a while.

Edit on 5/2/24: I have given it some time, and time has not been good to it. The complaints from some others about it scrunching up when one rolls over it have turned out to be true; it will not remain completely flat. So far, that hasn't made it useless, but the resulting small ripples are an annoyance.I probably will eventually find a local store that sells the old-style truly rigid floor protector mats and replace this.----------Original review: I am using this floor protector mat under a rolling gaming chair on a hardwood floor.When it came, I unrolled it and left it out in the sun for a few hours with the curl downward (so it could not curl up). Then, I brought it inside and, per the directions, placed it smooth side down on the floor. I swept the floor first.Initially, it did display some of the negative behaviors others have complained about (notably, it bunched up when I rolled the chair while in the chair). However, after a couple of days, it flattened completely and now shows zero tendency to do that.It is not invisible, but one can easily see the floor through it. It has no noticeable smell. It does exactly what I wanted it to do; it doesn't slide around, it lies completely flat and doesn't bunch up, and it doesn't show grooves where the chair moves. I cannot yet speak to durability, as I have only had it a few days.For reference, I am 180 lb, and the chair probably weights about 40-50 lb; it's not light. The room temperature is 73 F.

The material is thin. Foe me and my purposes that was good. Package came in a roll. Took 2 days to straighten but it is flat now.No complaints...

I am glad I didn't let the negative reviews detur me from giving this product a try.Bought for a home (in bedroom) office to protect hardwood. Love the clean look the clear provides. No damage to floors since started using.Easy to unroll (followed instructions) let the product warm up before attempting to unroll. I had no issues, one person job, and was laying flat within 24 hours.No issues with slip or movement ad reported in other reviews...I am sure a true hardwood floor is less slip resistant then a luxury vinyl floor.Only tip would be opting for the larger size. I went for the smaller size as it's a small desk in our bedroom, but if limts your ability to roll around (as seen in picture)

I ordered this chair mat to protect the floor where I feed my cats. There was no noxious odor from the mat when I unboxed it which was huge for me, as so many items seems to have a heavy chemical smell when unboxed. I absolutely will not allow anything that smells strongly of chemicals into my home. This mat did not smell at all. I laid the mat out with 2 20lb dumbbells on the curled end and it was flat and ready to go about 2 hours later, indoors, in my kitchen, about 68 degrees, so there was nothing special about the environment that made it lay flat more quickly. It is very clear and transparent and does not appear cloudy at all, even thought it is textured. I highly recommend this floor mat. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ok, I rarely write review of products, but felt that anyone serious about purchasing a floor mat like this one should be aware of a few things. I bought this mat to use over vinyl plank flooring in my home office. Read the reviews, thought it looked like a decent product. The mat is very flimsy. They say anti-slip...what a joke! My vinyl planks are a premium grade product with a rough grain surface to mimic wood so the mat has decent contact. I work at my desk all day. I would say that I averaged having to reposition the mat at least 5 times a day. The mat puckered up as I repositioned my chair, slid backward and forward, and even rotated some causing it to bunch up at corners where it hit adjacent objects like my desk legs or computer tower. The mat is a joke. I had a family emergency and I was not able to deal with the return before the 30 day return window so I am stuck with it. A week ago, I just couldn't' t stand dealing with the garbage floor mat any longer and ordered a new one from American Floor Mats as I have purchased from them before for heavy duty mats on a carpet floor. Ok, seriously, there is no comparison between them. The one from American Floor mats cost me twice as much. $95 vs $45, but I will tell you that I could probably log the time spent repositioning the mat against my hourly wage and cover the difference in cost within a month. The new mat is thicker, stiffer, textured on both sides, and I have not had to reposition it in 3 days since I laid it down. I know for a fact that it is providing better protection to the flooring because the impact resistance is so much better. In my opinion, I would not even consider purchasing this inferior mat. I bought it for my office chair on the hardwood floor. Every time I rolled - I could hear hardwood floor surface cracking...Not anymore - this floor mat did the trick!It also looks great and stays flat, so you do not trip over it.Some people were saying that it never flattened out - this was not my case - I left it under boxes on the floor for a weekend and it was fine by Monday.I had concern that it would be too thin as it was so tightly rolled into shipping box, but I found it to be a perfect thickness- not too thick and not too thin!I bought bigger size 46x58 following people's reviews and this size is just right - it fits under legs of my table and covers enough floor surface that when i roll around - i do not worry, if i am still on the mat or not.Highly recommended!
