Fits on my 9-year-old well.
I got this for my son who is required to wear this on his karate class, especially the amount of sparring is increased since he is moving up the ranks.Since I am a female, I cannot say whether or not this is one of the more comfortable cups, however, I think with my son not complaining about anything with this cup gives me some type of confirmation that this fits well for him.Putting this on him is very easy and quick as there is a velcro system that sandwiches everything together and securely. This cup stays on my son through practice. My son in more on the thinner and tall side, so I think this will last him for quite a while. Also, the cup material inside is pretty solid. The vinyl material that covers the cup is thin, but has some sort of give or cushion to it, so I am guessing that feature is giving my son some type of comfort.Overall, so far, so good!

Slightly better protection but less comfortable
Although it looks massive on a child, the protective groin guard is actually the same size as a kid’s normal one (see second picture). The elastic is soft, however, the Velcro that binds around the back is a little rough so can be itchy if worn on the inside. The white padding looks big but it’s designed this way to provide more protection around the surrounding area. Note that the groin guard is stitched into the padding so is not removable. It is currently worn by our eldest on the outside during training to easily put on and take off when required. It also allows greater range of movement when worn on the outside. It has not been worn on the inside as it is not comfortable (bulky), impedes movement, and Velcro binding scratches the lower back. Unsure if certain tournaments allow for this protective gear to be worn on the outside, otherwise some custom tailoring will be required. At this age, the martial arts groin guard (narrower in width and deeper, compared to the wider and shallower cricket groin guard) wedged in between two underpants should suffice and will be more comfortable, provide better range of movement and still have the same level of protection when compared to this. The only downside is that it may move around a little bit and could even pop out in the rare occasion whereas this complete padding one will not.
