Leviton Decora Smart Switch Anywhere Companion, Add Wire-Free 3-Way/4-Way/5-Way On/Off Control to Decora Smart Wi-Fi 2nd Gen Switches, DAWSC-1RW, White

I bought this so I could set lighting schedules for my daughter’s basement bed room which has no window. The install was quick and pretty straight forward especially if you are replacing an existing switch. You will need to identify the traveler which is usually red and the hot wire which is black, Your white wires are required for this switch to work and might be by-passed and wired together in you existing switch configuration. I installed this as a single switch and it looks great. The connection took a bit and you will probably need to down load the manufacturers app for connection to you smart home. I had to run the set up about 4 or 5 times before it connected. Once connected Alexa was quick to discover the device. The dimming is smooth and there is no flicker or hum to the lights or the switch. The speed of the light at the switch or using smart home is pretty instant. This is one of the easier smart switches I have installed and had little to no issues. I would totally buy this switch again. I would pay twice this amount to never have to go down stairs to wake my daughter up again. I just tell Alexa to turn on the lights and play music in her room. Instant response!

Pretty easy to install but is slightly bigger than the existing dumb switches from Leviton. This was to be expected though as the same would be true with any smart switch.I have had this product for roughly 2 weeks now and have had zero issues with WiFi connectivity. Will update if anything changes. The quality of these switches are much better than other brands we have tried in the past and absolutely worth the price.It functions have been extremely reliable as of now and plan to get more in the future. I do wish we would have gotten the dimmable switch but this switch will work for areas that don’t need a dimmable option. We haven’t experienced any flickering of our lights that I have seen in other reviews.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:I bought this so I could more easily control the porch light on the east side of my house. The only switch for the porch light is in the garage and I would have to cross both car bays from the door to the house to get to the switch. If you have a lot of stuff in your garage, you know that this can be inconvenient. I had one previously for the coach lights in the front of my house, so I already had the app on my phone anyway. It was an easy install for a DIY person that understands electrical wiring. If you don't I recommend finding someone who does to install it. Any decent handyman should be able to take care of it. Long story short, it was a quick install for me, easily paired with the app and Alexa. Now if I want to turn on the light is is super easy...You can also set up a schedule for on and off. The app supports different schedules for weekends and weekdays or you can also set the schedule for everyday. I am very happy with this...Not the cheapest solution, but i think Leviton is quality...and that makes it worth the extra few bucks to me.

You need Android 12 or higher on your phone/tablet to use with Alexa. The dimmer plug seems to work fine, only have a few days use so far though. A problem people should be aware of is, it says you need android 8 or higher to use their app. Amazon says you need android 9 or higher to use the Alexa app. BUT went you go to link accounts the Alexa app says you need android 12 or higher to link accounts. Which means you can't use it with Alexa if you don't have 12 or higher. My 89 year old mother's phone has 11 and it can't be updated higher. I didn't want to sign out of the Alexa app with my phone because my entire house is smart and I didn't want to risk losing my setup. Finally I got my bothers phone to use (he doesn't have smart devices) and used his phone to link the accounts. But it was a pain to figure out what needed to be done and getting it done. Just a Warning for anyone that doesn't have android 12 or higher.
