Review: Bei ersten Touren mit Ersatzkleidung, Schlafsack, Tarp, Kochutensilien und Wasservorrat hat sich der Gregory Focal 58 gut bewährt. Der Rucksack ist mit etwas über 1 Kg (ohne Regencover) ziemlich leicht, trotzdem hat er anders als manche Ultraleichtrucksäcke ein anständiges Tragesystem. Wanderungen über viele Stunden sind damit möglich. Für unterschiedliche Körpergrößen gibt es wohl unterschiedliche Modelle ( siehe YouTube Videos von Gregory). Für mich mit 180 cm Länge passt die Größe M wunderbar. Für die Gewichtsoptimierung hat der Rucksack leichte Materialien, wirkt aber trotzdem auch für längere Touren ausreichend robust. Für eine Alaskadurchquerung würde ich einen größeren und festeren (und damit doppelt so schweren) Rucksack wählen, für zwei Wochen Wandertour in Schweden, Schottland oder in den Alpen ist der Gregory Focal 58 aber sicher super geeignet. Update nach einem Jahr: Der Gregory Focal hat sich weiter bewährt. Hatte damit einige Touren im Mittelgebirge (Rheinsteig, Eifel) zum Teil auch mit viel Ausrüstung, wie Zelt Kocher und Töpfen. Auch für eine Woche Hüttentour in den Schweizer Alpen war der Rucksack super. Er ist auch bei voller Beladung gut zu tragen.
Review: Ich habe den Rucksack inzwischen auf ca 500km Wanderung benutzt und kann ihn uneingeschränkt empfehlen. Meiner Meinung nach sind die Funktionen im richtigen Maße reduziert um Gewicht und Komplexität zu sparen, ohne Komfort und Robustheit einbüßen zu müssen. Gerade das Frontfach, die im Laufen sehr gut zugänglichen Getränkehalter und das Tragesystem überzeugen mich. Empfehlenswert für jeden ein Kompromiss aus Komfort und Gewicht Sicht (scheint dem Osprey Exos sehr ähnlich zu sein)
