Goldilocks would find these boots "Just Right".
Great work boot or casual to aggressive hiking. Not like the mushy soft-sole hikers (Hoka) and not so stiff you be "old" before they're comfortable. Just right combination of support without too heavy. I can wear them all day at work and leave them on until bedtime.

I received a pair of 13EE as ordered. The boots were marked 13EE on the boots. Tried them on and felt the same as my old 13D boots which I wanted to replace, which are the exact brand and model. I compared the D and EE boots side by side, even comparing the insoles by removing them, and found the D and EE width boots looked EXACTLY the same. The EE width boots had to be labeled wrong from the factory. Had to return them.Update: I received a second pair of the same boot, and found them to be the same as the boots that I returned. At that time I contacted Danner Boot and talked to a very pleasant and knowledgeable representative. I was told that the difference in width between a D boot and double E boot is only about 1/8 of an inch in width. This difference in size would be very hard to see, as basically it is one 16th of an inch on each side of the boot.I am changing my review from one star to five stars based on the performance of the last two pairs of these boots purchased over the last two years or so. The fit of the boot to my foot is a matter of my choice, not the construction of the boot.I would say that they may feel on the small side, due to the rigid construction of the boot, especially when brand new. Beware not to lace up the boots too tight as this is easy to do.The Amazon return and reorder process I did is about as easy as it gets !

Customer service leaves a little something to be desired.
I love this boot. Super comfortable. I'm on my feet about 90% of my day. I've worn the boot for about 7 months of hard use and it's holding up nicely. I work in the commercial HVAC trade so my environments can be hard on boots. The only reason I didn't give this five stars is that the right foot was not waterproof. I contacted the company and they wanted me to mail the boots back at my expense and wait for them to determine if this was a manufacturers defect, repair or replace, or not, and then send them back. That whole situation seems ridiculous to me. My old boots were already in the trash, and I'm not buying another pair to wear while Danner makes up their mind about mine. I expected more out of this iconic company. So I treated them with mink oil a couple times and it's fine. I shouldn't have to treat a boot that's waterproof, with waterproofing compound, a month after I bought them.
