The cords are sturdy and well protected, and I like that a pair is included, so I keep one at home and one in my bag tto use with my battery bank. I have a 2DS I like to keep around while traveling but the AC wall charger is restricted to wall outlets. This cable relieves the outlet restriction so now I can plug into a USB port which I have on my Anker charger, external battery, computer, and in my vehicle. Good build quality overall that feels sturdy. 5 feet is a lot of cable so if you want something more compact there are other cables to consider.

These are the cables I would put in the hands of a small child with confidence.As for functionality, they work perfectly. The only possible downside is if you needed something lightweight and simple, the cables are a little bit stiff. So they might not be arrangeable easily if you use them in a tight space.
