I love this guide
I love this guide. The detail, the text, the maps, the insights are all so helpful. Each summer I visit this region of France. My enjoyment of the area has become so much more informed and interesting with Languedoc-Roussillon. Frequently, I read a section in the book, come across something that intrigues me, and set off to take a look. Churches, castles, restaurants, vineyards, roadside sites, market days, everything. I do the same for friends who come to visit me. I tell them to look through the guide, pick something that sounds special, and we'll go find it. It's a great way to start an adventure.

Do not rely on as a hotel and restaurant guide.
Pretty thorough guide to a single department in France - hard or impossible to find other than on Amazon. Type is very small and I suspect all the hotel info is not up to date, but I wanted it for the sightseeing and background info, anyway.

Excellent -- but if you have aged eyes, get a magnifying glass.....
Superb, and full of good humor and bonhomie. Wish we had had this for our late spring trip to Languedoc in 2015.

Good value/practical
I always use these guides as they are very practical. This one has a lot of repeat info from the South of France version. Just the right amount of history etc.

Despite being an older edition this was a great guide for this year's trip to Languedoc and Roussillon
Despite being an older edition this was a great guide for this year's trip to Languedoc and Roussillon. I wish I had one of these Cadogans for the Dordogne, Lot and Tarn Valleys as they were much better than the heavy Blue Guide I bought.
