I am not a girly girl but I wanted to dye my hair. I didn't want to spend hundreds at a salon. I researched a lot of products, decided on John Frieda foam color. Had easy, hard-to-mess-up instructions. The products smelled but I've never been around hair dye. When I straighten my hair I forget large chunks cuz I'm lazy....I thought this hair dye would be the same way, nope .....I used it like shampoo on dry hair worked amazing.I lost a few strands of hair when washing the color out but no other side effects.Beautiful color outcome.Update 48 hours later: still like the color but has lightened a considerable amount

This is my favorite hair dye. The foam makes its super easy to apply. Can be a little messy, but so can regular hair dye. The red really comes out nicely.

Amazing! I'm a freak and like to roll the dice by purchasing the lowest priced John Frieda foam and thus experiencing the spectrum :-)This color is so rich and real looking with beautiful highlights that it blows me away. It's too dark for my complexion but still worth the experience. I won't buy anything other than John Frieda foam hair coloring cuz it covers gray like nobody's biz

I was honestly mistaken about this product. I thought it was a permanent hair dye, but it turns out this brand is meant to refresh or maintain an existing hair color. If you’re looking for a bold color change, this won’t do it — it didn’t work for me. But I can see it being useful for people trying to keep their color vibrant between dye jobs.
