Rotolight AEOS Softbox Kit - Black

Well made but significantly over-priced. I have large Fresnels with bigger barn doors that cost a fraction. Rotolite make great products though.

I have the AEOS2 lights that I got used (demo model) from a local retailer. I actually got the barn door (1) with my 2 lights. This softbox requires that you have a barn door to mount. Overall, the quality is high and it works as expected, making the light from the AEOS2 much more diffused. However, my major complaint..... these are frustrating as hell to take on and off the light. I would estimate a good 10-15 minutes to get these out of the bag, get all the pieces in place, velcro them in, and get the doors adjusted right. That a pain in the rear end when you're out in the field and on limited time or dealing with natural elements of weather. Speaking of which, this softbox would be atrocious in the wind (as would just about any softbox). Rotolight actually makes a hard plastic diffuser that I've seen others use and they are easy to put on and don't have issues in the wind. I've actually ordered one from adorama. I give this 2.5 out of 5 stars because it's quality material and would hold up well and works as expected, but the design is a major flaw, pain to attach and take off, and requires the barn doors to be useful.

Should of purchased this day one! I just learned the other day that this is a lot more important than just controlling light direction..my light fell and because of the barn door,it was protected!

Solide und robust verarbeitete Abschirmklappen. Leider lässt sich das Licht des Aeos damit nur bedingt abschirmen, es kommt zu ein paar Lightleaks. Stolzer Preis.
