update: Customer service reached out and was great. It turns out there IS a difference in the versions of this device, and this one only connects within bluetooth range while the other can connect from anywhere. this one still allows scheduled feedings to take place, but no manual feedings while you’re away from home. So if you want to be able to manually feed while away from home, do not buy this model, find the wifi connection model. They refunded me, explained the difference, and I plan to buy the other wifi model. upgrading rating to a five simply because its a great design, great feeder, and their willingness to correct this and have a chat with me is great service so I definitely recommend. does NOT allow manual feedings remotely. which is ridiculous, I’m assuming this product is broken since in the past with a different feeder (same product) I could remotely feed. I really want a refund

This unit has been great. I've had it going for almost 2 months. I did purchase the add on to increase the capacity. That was a worthwhile purchase. The app connects and is easy to program. I haven't had any issues with food getting stuck. I've refilled it a few times since I started using it with no issues. With a huge koi tank, this doesn't let out a huge amount of food at one time. You can tell it to rerun the feeding cycle many times though, If you want. I currently have it set to do two rounds of feedings in the morning and another 2 in the afternoon and another 2 in the evening. It's really quiet. The fish seem happy with it! On larger tanks there is a lip that allows a glass top to be fitted on the tank, the clamp system is wide enough to accommodate the thickness of my huge tank but it does not get around the lip of plastic. This means that the unit is really just sitting on the top quarter inch of the tank frame. I was nervous it might fall since it can't be fully seated but so far, things seem ok.

Biggest issue is using the app. Sometimes you cant login ( typical poor quality, Chinese app) and you wont know how long your feeders haven't been functioning. Its confusing on how to reset your password and once you the app doesnt recognize it which render your supply of feeders useless. ( they may still feed on their programmed schedule) Feeder works fairly well. I have had other automatic feeders that gum up quickly. These need cleaned every couple of months.

Unfortunately I’m passed the return window but glad I purchased 2 different automatic feeders because this one DOES NOT Work. It never stays connected through the app. The other one I purchased DXOPHIEX thankfully works perfectly every time. Do not buy this one. Shop around Pic: the blue light flashing represents the device not working because it’s lost sync with the app and timer. I’ve done everything . Reset it, unplugged, reinstalled app and jumped one one foot but nothing gets it to stay synced. Completely not doing the thing I bought it for. Feeding my fish

I saw this on Dr Novak's YouTube channel. This is the best fish feeder I have ever came across. It is easy to refill, holds a lot, easy to program flexible feeding schedules through Bluetooth, keeps food dry, no batteries to replace on the plugin version. At $25, this is a great buy, don't by the rotating drum types, by these hopper types.

The app suddenly resets and one has to reconnect and reprogram the feeder repeatedly even though I have excellent internet wireless service. Disappointing.
