This was a good read as long as you don’t take it to seriously, some parts of it were very good , the French presidents being one of the. This best part for me was about Sophie Scholl and the White Rose movement,true heroes.

Good book & very happy with the price & delivery.

I had no idea this was a podcast or I would have been listening. Sardonic humor and history is a great combination and this book nailed it.

I downloaded the book from Amazpn. No problems. Opened the book five hours late and was unable to go from one page to the next without exiting and reloading. I returned the book. Shame, I was looking forward to it!

I heard about book on The Drum, ABC, went immediately to buy. Thoroughly enjoyable. The authors provide with information, that would be difficult to unearth. Some of the information was quite amusing.

The last image to stick in your head upon reading this may well be of the huge death toll from plague when Justinian tried to recapture the western half of the Roman Empire. The authors report that the 10,000 corpses per day melted, forming a thick custard that drowned anyone who fell into it. In a whimsical yet sardonic take on the foibles of leaders ancient to modern it’s little Costa Rica that comes out best, filling one with some much needed hope for humanity. Also memorable: President Mitterrand dying soon after his last excessive meal which included oysters, foie gras and an endangered bird (a banned meal eaten under a napkin to hide the sinfulness). This is the book of the authors’ successful podcasts.

Came a little late , but the books was in excellent condition.
