I decided to try the Coop Home Goods Cooling Pillowcase because I’m one of those people who’s constantly flipping their pillow to find the “cool side.” Let me tell you—this pillowcase has completely changed the game. First off, it actually does what it claims. The fabric feels cool to the touch, almost like it’s been sitting in a chilled room, even if the rest of the bed isn’t particularly cold. I was skeptical at first, but it genuinely helps keep me comfortable through the night, especially during warmer months. What surprised me most was how soft it is. A lot of “cooling” products I’ve tried in the past tend to feel a bit stiff or slick, but this one feels smooth and lightweight without sacrificing comfort. It’s breathable, too—I don’t wake up sweaty, which is a huge win. One thing I really appreciate is how well it fits my pillow (I use the Eden Pillow from the same brand). It doesn’t slide around or bunch up, which is a pet peeve of mine with some pillowcases. The zipper closure is subtle and keeps everything in place, which makes the whole thing feel neat and tidy. The pillowcase is very soft and the cool side is cool to the touch. As soon as you use it, it becomes hot and doesn't cool down again. I thought flipping it over and using the other side for awhile would let it cool back down, but it didn't. Update - COOP reached out and sent me a replacement. I've used it for about a week and the replacement gets a little warm but not hot like the original one I received. The new one takes longer to get warm. When it gets warm I can flip it over and within an hour the cool side gets cool again. It helps me stay cooler while I'm sleeping.

Excellent pillow cover from Coop. I own three Coop pillows and I made my new one by stuffing filling into this cover. Perfect!! And, it only cost a fraction of buying another Coop pillow. Very HAPPY!

I absolutely love my Coop cut out pillow. The case itself could be equally wonderful if not for the stitching. Each morning since purchasing this a few months ago, I have woken up to a more tattered case than the day before. I guess my wedding ring is snagging on it at night? Or it’s just getting wear and tear? Either way, the threading seems far too delicate to perform as needed. While it is very soft and cooling (the best part!), I really wish Coop would make other more durable cooling options as cases for the cut-out versions. Skip the complicated threading in favor of a smooth surface and you’ve got yourself a 5-star case, Coop!

Cannot believe this Amazon listing alleging that the pillow case will keep your face cool. The problem is the Home Goods pillow does not conduct heat so the pillow causes your face to heat up and the pillowcase does nothing to stop that. Purchased the Home Goods pillow based upon the reviews here and on Consumer Reports. Within 60 seconds of my face being on the pillow it got uncomfortably warm. This is just the opposite of what the pillow and his pillow case advertise. To be objective, used several non-contact thermometers and measured the surface of the pillow after the left side of my face have been on the area for 60 seconds. There was about a 10°F rise with this pillow and pillow case compared to the same maneuver on my 25 year old Tempur-pedic pillow. I have two other people to do the same thing, namely put their face on this pillow. They both reported that it felt too warm after one minute. This pillowcase is attractive but don’t be misled that it’s going to keep your face cool and thereby help you sleep. Strange that anyone would think that a thin fabric pillowcase could keep your face cool because it is the pillow contained therein that makes the difference. Returning the pillow and pillowcase to Amazon.

This pillowcase is a magical fix for the very comfortable Coop Eden pillow’s one flaw: Heat buildup. The Eden advertises as being cool due to the infusion of cooling gel, but in reality that seems like a bit of a gimmick, or at least it’s not enough to offset the warming effect of memory foam. But replacing Eden’s stock pillowcase with this one provides a substantial improvement, making even the warmest of nights bearable. And while it won’t keep the spot you’re lying on cool forever, you need only move slightly to find another cool spot. I seem to only need to do this a few times before I just fall asleep. It would be ideal if the Eden came bundled with this pillowcase, but at least I have the stock one as a backup for when the cooling pillowcase is in the wash.
