CANTATE DOMINO

Musically superb and superbly recorded!
I have had the vinyl disc of this wonderful music since the 1970's and when I found out that this remastered SACD was available I jumped at the chance to own it. I am so glad that I did! The simple two microphone recording technique is so refreshing when compared to the heavily processed multi-track methods so prevalent today. The clarity of this recording is outstanding and allows the beauty of the music to shine through.

An incredible sound recording.
WOW! This is a STUNNING piece of recorded music. It sounds incredible on a top quality Hi Fi set up. A true audiophile disc. Originally recorded in 1976. The music and performances are of course sublime but the recording is truly mindblowing. Love it!

Fantastic recording quality. Excellent SACD quality.
Church organ music and Christmas songs are not my cup of tea.But this is the most fantastic recording I've ever heard. On my (very good) equipment I play it with NEO 6 M (with subwoofer). My uncle was an organ music fan. He produced organ music vinyls. He'd bought same very expensive microphones and tape recorders as those used for Cantate Domino. Despite his desperate efforts he'd never been able to get such a fantastic quality.

Excellente
It was with some hesitation I ordered this disk but what a improvement on the 16 bit CD version !! I am extremely impressed. The emotional response this recording evokes within a person a simply amazing.Sadly with the higher resolution on SACD, tape noise and possible glitches in the recording becomes more audible but this is minor compared the overall improvement of sonics.

Sounds like a live performance, not a recording!
Unlike some large choral pieces where the voices merge into mush, on this disc I hear an ensemble of distinct voices. For a vocal recording this is ultimate clarity. And the organ blends with commanding yet not overwhelming presence. These singers shape phrases in the St Olaf tradition. Simply could not be better!
