Among thousands of amazing artists she's unique and deepest in my heart
I loved Tina Turner when I was still living in communist Poland. She was giving lots of joy in our miserable lives in the 70th. She was so beautiful, vibrant, with inexhaustible energy. Went to her last concert in Wembley and Tina private party after the concert. She was our client in San Lorenzo restaurant, always arriving with beautiful smile. Most charismatic artists of all. Every song in her album is amazing. I love her.

Excellent compilation from a true legend and survivor
This three disc set from 2009 is probably Tina's most career-encompassing collection, including non-album singles such as the two Mad Max soundtrack songs and various duets. But for the casual buyer it won't be as obviously hit-packed and immediately listenable as the Simply The Best CD collection from 1991.Sound quality is very good (aside from River Deep Mountain High which sounds a bit off, with distant vocals way in the background). Addicted To Love, her cover of Robert Palmer's hit and her favourite song, is the lengthy, live version that was also used as a single, making me wonder why no studio version was ever recorded without the live concert stuff going on in it. No sign on this set of her groovy disco cover of I Heard It Through The Grapevine, sung at her One Last Time concert (in 2000) and thought to exist only as a live version until a studio recording was leaked years later (it was revealed to have been initially planned for her Twenty Four Seven album). With her astonishing raw energy, presence and stamina, Tina soon developed into more of a live concert artist (and was amazing to see on tour) so her back catalogue has often seemed a bit neglected in album form. But we did get two different reissues of Private Dancer, a deluxe reissue of Foreign Affair and we finally got a deluxe box set of Break Every Rule in November 2022, after my original review on here asked why that had not yet been reissued.RIP Tina Turner (November 26, 1939 - May 24, 2023). A true legend and survivor whose amazing energy and spirit inspires us all. You'll never be forgotten.
