Fantastic game for anyone - young or old
I'll start by saying I was a huge fan of the original that came bundled with the PS5 at launch, and so was eagerly awaiting this sequel which promised to be even bigger and bolder, and it has certainly not disappointed. The variety of gameplay is fun, refreshing, and easy to pick up but every difficult to master, which is a blueprint that any platform game should follow. There's tons of levels to get stuck in, each with their own secrets to find that adds to replay value, and plenty of bonus/time trial levels on top. While the varying difficulty can sometimes get frustrating, it rarely gets boring or competitive. If I had one lament, it is that some 'power's that Astro acquires in the game get a lot more screen time than others, but that me nitpicking really.Last thing I would say, is that my wife isn't a big gaming fan, but absolutely loves this and we really enjoyed taking it in turns trying to beat levels, offering each other handy (and sometimes not so handy!) tips on how to beat a certain level. So if you're not usually into games, or you know someone that isn't, this might just be the game that'll turn their head!

Probably one of the best kids games on PS5
I've just got my boy a PS5 and most of us know that the PS5 comes with astrobot playroom preloaded on the console which gives around an hour or 2 of gameplay. My boy absolutely adored the astrobot rescue mission game on PS4 VR as well so wanted to play this game as well. The game has a fantastic blend of gameplay and interaction combined with colourful, graphically gorgeous worlds that make full use of the PS5 dual sense controllers motion control, microphone and adaptive triggers. It's an amazing title to add to your collection and a must have for kids. I have to admit that I also love playing astrobot as I did the PS4 VR version and I'm middle aged lol.It would be interesting to see if this is made into a VR version for the new VR2 and I would also buy a PS4 version whether that's VR or not I would buy another copy for the PS4.Come on developers make this VR for the PS4 and 5 as we loved it.Bit pricey but we purchased this when it was £43.99 during Black Fridays reductions so a bit cheaper.A fantastic game that is worth the money and has masses of replayability. Most of the levels are relatively easy to do although coming up against the end bosses of each level can be challenging. The speed run levels are particularly difficult and I think the developers should really make these easier for kids. I would have liked to have seen a easy, medium and hard level selection so children can have a fighting chance to complete the game but this isn't an option unfortunately.Another huge plus for the game was the additional Xmas bonus level that unlocks when you complete the game (the developers really should have given this to everyone regardless of their completion percentage) which was a timely addition just before Xmas lol. This game has deservedly won the game of the year, it's fun, it's varied and has loads of fun elements from becoming tiny like a mouse to being a large sponge astrobot soaking up water then squeezing out to grow plants for coins or putting out baddy fire characters etc etcI really hope the developers make more astrobot games because they are fantastic games for kids and adults. Please don't forget about the PS4 players either and especially those that own the original playstation VR headset because this would be fantastic in VR.Top game and deservedly the winner of game of the year.

The best game released for PlayStation in years
I received Astro Bot earlier today and have had to drag myself away to write this review.I have Astro Bot: Rescue Mission for PSVR, which is my second favourite VR game and have played Astro's Play Room for a while, which is fun. This latest Astro Bot game takes it up a few more notches. It feels more alive, more colourful and most of all a lot more fun. Astro's controls are excellent, the level design is so inventive and almost everything moves and reacts to your actions which feels more immersive than the VR game. The use of the controllers speaker is awesome and adds an extra layer of immersion. The fluid physics of water and goo are excellent. Despite everything going on it runs buttery smooth and I have not noticed a single slow down or stutter. The gameplay is so much fun. Just walking around in grass or water is a lovely feeling and makes you want to explore every part of each level. Usually I just want to get to the end of each level of a game but Astro Bot makes me want to stop and look around.Did I mention it's a lot more fun to play. It is!. It's getting extremely addictive and I don't want to go to bed, but I have to, i'm up early tomorrow. I should have waited until Friday to play it. Now my week whilst not playing Astro Bot is ruined! This is by far the best game released for the PS5 so far and apart from the feeling of trying PSVR for the first time the best PlayStation experience since Ridge Racer on PS1.If you have a PS5, you must buy it NOW!. If you don't have a PS5, buy a PS5 and a copy of Astro Bot NOW!

One of the most fun games ever.
This was a Birthday present for my daughter. She loved the built in PS5 Astro's Play Room, so when I heard about the full blown Astro Bot game, it got pre ordered. This has to be one of the best games of the current generation of consoles. It's pure joy. The characters, animations, object physics, and music just come together to make everything feel alive. The controller haptics are insane. There's so much feedback relative to what you're doing in the game. It's not just senseless vibration either, it feels like what you're doing is coming through the pad. The sounds belt out of the controller too, and just adds yet another layer to the game. There's plenty to see and do, and the difficulty seems well balanced as well.Highly recommended.
