Klein Tools 38602 Curved Jaw Locking Pliers with Quick Release Handles, Intuitive Thumb Knob, High Torque and Gripping Power, 10-Inch

I am honestly surprised at the quality and functionality of these pliers. I was hesitant at first, because the screw-end adjustment mechanism for the locking jaws was unfamiliar to me. I was worried I wouldn't like it, but I was completely wrong. These are awesome! They are comfortable in the hand, having coated grips, and with a sturdy, solid feel that I haven't experienced in locking pliers from my past. These pliers are a good size and have a strong locking mechanism that's surprisingly well-balanced to hold tight, but also be easy to unlock. At the time of my purchase, these were an absolute bargain, with an affordable price-point that makes these an excellent value for the dollar. I own several Klein tools, and I've been impressed at the quality and design of each of them. Not only are these pliers my new favorites, but Klein Tools has become one of my new favorite manufacturers.

The Klein Tools 38600 Curved Jaw Locking Pliers are genuinely impressive. They feel great in the hand and have old-school American-made quality that used to define premium tools — the kind of fit, finish, and precision you now more commonly associate with top-tier Japanese, Taiwanese, or German manufacturing. Too often today, “Made in USA” simply means a higher price tag without any real improvement in quality or function. Not the case here. These pliers are functionally superior, with excellent tolerances, smooth operation, thoughtful features, and outstanding overall build quality. The intuitive thumb knob and quick-release handles work exceptionally well. Size-wise, they are nearly perfect: compact enough for EDC or vehicle tool kit, yet still large enough to be truly useful for real-world tasks. These are heirloom-quality tools — the kind of tool you buy once, use for decades, and eventually pass down.

There’s some guy on YouTube who performs detailed stress tests on different brands of lock jaw vise style pliers and these Klein pliers came out near the top on many tests for strength and durability, beating out some pricier and more established brands, if I’m not mistaken. They’re a a solid tool, much better quality than I was expecting. And the jaws, due to their unique shape, can handle flat stock as well as round. The locking mechanism is also very handy. Easy to use
