It's taken several days and some coaching from me for my dog to figure out that he needs to pull the strings with his teeth. Now he sits straight up, almost quivering, as he watches me fill up the various sections. My only complaint is that the puzzle is so light that he's also figured out that if he just knocks it over and paws at it, everything will eventually fall out. When he plays with it, I have to put a finger on the top of the tower. I'm not sure it's something I could leave him alone with. Usually, if we have to leave the house for a few hours, I play ball with him outside to tire him out, and then set up several of his toys and puzzles to play with while we're gone. Like I said, if I do that with this, he'll just knock it over and paw at it. It's pretty sturdy, so perhaps that's not a bad thing.1 week later: I've discovered that if I set it on the hardwood floor upstairs, (it was set on the carpet downstairs) he can't knock it over. It's perfect! He has to use his teeth on the pulling strings to pull the "floors" out of the cylinder. He loves it! And I love it because he can play with it in a challenging way.
