When they arrived, the first two jacks inserted perfectly, with no adjustments. The next two got hung up after only going in 1/4 of the way. I contacted the company and was told that about 8 to 10 threads down from the top of the jack, they added a bead of solder/weld, per OSHA, so the screw handle can't be raised higher than it is safe to raise, or to keep the screw handle from being raised too high and coming off. The two "beads" extended about 1/4" off the threads. I filed them both down to be equal with the top of the threads, but left the thread filled with the metal so the handle would stop if I ever had reason to raise it that high. They inserted perfectly. This is scaffolding for my home use only, just to get up to my evaporative cooler without having to use and work from an extension ladder at the ripe old age of 74 (me, not the ladder!) Hope this helps. These jacks seem to be very well built, and a sturdy base. Review: Perfect - I would recommend these to anyone who is setting up scaffolding on uneven ground, they work perfect, they are heavy duty, easy to use and the material is very good. Depending on the make and model of baker style scaffold you have, the inside dimension of the square stem will not be able to take a 1 3/8" screw jack. We also offer a 1 1/4" screw jack that will fit most baker style scaffolds however, you would want to double check the inside dimension of your baker scaffold stem first to see if it will fit a 1 1/4" screw jack. **Q: What is the weight rating for the jacks?
