Williams Gregory, does a very good job of bringing an understanding of Artificial Intelligence to a general reader. He's made it an accessible introduction with his friendly tone and by keeping the discussion at a level where any interested person can follow it. It is not a book for people looking for details on how AI works, that isn't its purpose.He covers of most of the key topics on AI (ethics, bias, data requirements, effects on the labour market) giving many examples of it current use. I especially liked the chapter walking the reader through using some of the commercial AI tools. It really helps one understand how this technology can be applied.I feel it would be a stronger book if specific examples were given with some measures of how successful AI has been. The existing examples are mostly generic. It would also be good if it explained the difference between AI and just "normal" analytics. They seem to be used interchangeably here.Overall a recommended read for people looking to understand what the heck AI is capable of.

Williams Gregory is a gifted writer who keeps the narrative pace moving along nicely. The content is well organized and full of relevant analogies. One of the chapters invites you to actually use an AI application. I asked Chat GPS to write some song lyrics about an arcane subject and I was literally blown away with the results. I'm absolutely engaged and eager to learn more.
