A universal remote control that cannot control anything.
I was so excited that a company will release a universal remote control with a touch LCD screen for a decent price. However it just doesn't work for me and it's running with the latest firmware that promise to control a projector but The problem is JVC is not on the list, How is that possible JVC is one of the top brands for projector? What are you people thinking? Crazy. Second I wanted to add a fan and oh well you guessed it, Dreo is not on the list and I might think it's okay because it's a newer brand that's not so popular outside of US then I go ahead and proceed to add a Dyson fan which I have in my living room and damm..... Not working. I have a list of device at home that this remote control will not control at all.Marantz cinema 70s , Dyson heat cooling fan, Dreo fan, JVC consumer line projectors, Panasonic Blu-ray player, Nvidia shield.Stay away from this remote control until this company willing to put out a firmware that actually supports devices that people use.

Great Product!
I’ve had this remote for less than 24 hours and I already love it. I’ve been a Switchbot fan for about 6 months now after buying their curtain bots, hub mini, and original switch bot. This is a great device to add to my collection! When paired with the hub mini, the experience is even better. You can use the hub mini to add ir signals from most any remote. You can even combine two remotes into one. For example, I have a receiver for my sound system and was able to combine my receiver’s vol up/down and mute functions with my TV’s remote so now, I just need the universal remote! Highly recommend

Disappointing and Confusing: Feels Like a Beta Version of the Universal Remote
I recently purchased the Switchbot Universal Remote with high expectations, but unfortunately, I encountered numerous issues right from the start. As someone who loves all things tech and automated tech, I expected a smoother setup process from Switchbot, but I found myself struggling at every step.First off, adding devices was far from straightforward. The process of manually adding devices and learning the action buttons was confusing and cumbersome. Integrating the devices from the Switchbot home screen to the remote was a headache. It was unclear whether I should add devices through the universal remote app or add them to the home screen first, then to the universal remote. Each method seemed to offer different functionality and customization options, adding to the confusion. Moreover, there were constant errors regarding the number of IR devices I could add. The remote claims to support up to 10 IR devices, but with only 8 added, I kept receiving error messages stating I had maxed out the limit. This inconsistency was frustrating and hindered the overall experience. The home screen interface of the remote is another major letdown. It feels outdated and lacks the sleek, user-friendly design typical of Switchbot products. The interface is bland and unappealing, making it a chore to navigate. What’s even more disappointing is the lack of detailed instructions. The package includes only a small pamphlet, which assumes you are already familiar with the Switchbot ecosystem and know how to set up Matter devices. There were no demos or thorough guidelines provided, which is unusual for Switchbot. This release feels rushed and poorly thought out, unlike their usually well-executed products. In summary, the Switchbot Universal Remote feels like a beta version rather than a polished product. It’s not user-friendly, even for tech enthusiasts, and it clearly needed more rounds of user feedback and testing before hitting the market. I hope Switchbot addresses these issues soon, but as it stands, I cannot recommend this product. If you’re not tech-savvy, steer clear of this remote – it’s simply not worth the hassle.

Universal Remote
I gave a negative review, since then I have upgraded to hub2 and the universal remote works fine. Takes a little work but overall satisfied

It's not really a universal remote... Yet
Don't buy this if you want to control your AV system. It has no support for receivers, or Android TV, and the support for the devices it's does have is less than what you'd expect... Like navigation buttons don't work for smart streaming devices. I would have given it 1 star, but the HW is nice.

Not a Universal Remote
One of the most basic functions of a universal remote that every $6 remote at Walmart can do is send volume commands to one device and navigation commands to another. This cannot do that. Each device you add is an entirely separate remote you have to access from a menu and there is no way to combine them in any way. They sell this with the hub and I don't know why because they don't work together at all. If you add an IR device you can copy it between devices but you cannot trigger anything on one from the other. If you have the hub next to your receiver in another room and try to control it with the remote you cannot do that. You can only send IR commands from the hub using the app on your phone and you can't send commands through the remote from the app.It is a Bluetooth remote and that function only works with the remote and not the app, so you can't do any scenes that incorporate Bluetooth devices. The remote also cannot reach the outside world at all so if you are hoping you can trigger something in Google home or anything other than another switchbot device you cannot do that. This is by far the worst smart home device I've ever encountered. I don't understand the good reviews. It is hard to imagine how this could be a useful device for any home setup. I figured was worth the risk to try even if I only used it as a number version of my G20Pro remote, but it is even less useful than that one.If you are wondering if it could do something you need I'll save you some time, it cannot do it.
