Stovax Fire Cement Cartridge 600g

This seems to have done the job of repairing cracks in my open fire firebrick. I would like to point out to other customers that it is not obvious from the image shown that this needs a sealant type dispensing gun to be used with it otherwise there is no way of pushing the substance out, it looked to me more like a tube which could be dispensed on its own but this is not the case.

Bought this to fill a crack in the rear fire brick of a Stovax REVA stove. Found it difficult to apply as very thick and heavy so difficult to get a uniform application using a caulking gun. The grave health warnings about the material don’t make it any easier to work with. It doesn’t look great as it dries black so you have a distinct black line showing down the brick. Finally having applied it and let it set solidly, the first time I swept the stove I knocked it lightly with a brush and a big chunk of the cement broke off. In fairness these comments are from a not particularly proficient DIY-er and no doubt a competent tradesmen would get better results.

Arrived very promptly but unfortunately does not have any instructions for use ie how to prepare the item to be repaired before using the product and where it is safe to use it. It does have user safety instructions.

Product arrived but only had 4 weeks left before expiry date. Returned.
