Accurate temperature rating.
So this product performed better than I expected. I decided to test it out on my back porch last night since I received it yesterday, and I knew that the temperature was going to be a low of 28°, so I expected this 20° bag to keep me fairly warm, but most people agree that the temperature rating on the bags is a survival rating and that you shouldn't expect to be comfortable at the actual survival rating and that you should probably buy a bag that is 10° warmer than your intended temperature if you want to be comfortable. However, this bag, paired with a 4.4R value pad, kept me very warm and comfortable at 28° without a tent or tarp, without wind, on my back porch. The sleeping bag itself is about 2 and 1/2 lb and the material seems thin , but it works and Is much more compressible than my 0° bag. You can get a thinner, lighter, more compressible down bag if you're willing to drop significantly more money on it, but for the price, this is an extremely good value and a good bag.

Good Warmth/Weight ratio
I went with the Altos 20-deg bag (blue) as an upgrade to an old-but-warm bag that is just too bulky for back country hiking. Took this out for a weekend campout and pleased with the quality. The Altos straight out of the bag for first use needed a few hours to expand the filler enough to provide decent insulation and by the following day of being left open it appeared to be fully expanded and quite fluffy. Both nights the temps were in the 30's and I was plenty comfortable with boxers, a t-shirt and socks as my personal layer. The footbox is a little tighter than I'm accustomed to but I did not feel constricted in any way and retained enough space where I could just barely slide my leg up in order to adjust my socks without having to unzip the bag (I'm 5'10", 170lb). The draft blocking flap around the inside seemed a little low but still effective (I didn't bother cinching it) and the cap/top of the bag has a nice bit of padding and insulation that was very comfortable and allowed me to sleep without a beanie cap, which was a really nice change from my usual cold-weather camping. This bag is rated as a 20-deg bag and I'm not confident it would keep me warm enough at that temp without wearing thermals and definitely heavy socks. I noticed that wherever my shoulder or knee happened to press against the fabric, I felt a cold spot. Not enough to get a chill, but noticeably colder. The footbox was warm enough and was better the second night after the fill thoroughly expanded. Overall I'm happy with this bag.

Decent Bag, Cold Rating Beware.
This sleeping bag is comfortable enough but does not provide the amount of warmth I was hoping for. I'll start with the negative being that warmth seeps out of this bag. Despite my best attempts at closing in the opening, without anything else to slow the temperature drop, it's going to get uncomfortable. If you move in your sleep, you'll get colder quicker. The good news is it'll keep you alive until the sun, movement, and coffee in the morning can reheat you. It is imperative that you put boiling water in a Nalgene bottle to stuff in this bag for overnight so you can get a decent night's rest. I've also had to put on toe warmers in my camp booties to keep my feet from being the reason I wake up in the night. The positive is that this is a great price for the weather rating. I look forward to using it for weather over 32F as we transition into the late spring/summer months. It has great compression and is perfectly lightweight. I stuff it in my backpack without the stuff sack as the buckles are too bulky and with a few good shoves from the top, I manage to fit a plethora of other kit in my pack. It will remain a staple in my backpack for the fall and spring seasons.

Well made
I love it! Very cozy and comfortable. I got the one rated for 20 degrees, and used it in 27-35 degree temps, stayed warm in only a cotton t-shirt.

Light and Cozy
Wow oh wow! I am blown away!! I received this bag yesterday and wanted to write a review of my first impression. While the bag was in its carrying sack, it was very lightweight and compact! The bright orange was very appealing and it was easy to fit in/out of the sack. I immediately hopped in and it was very soft and cozy with plenty of wiggle room to turn on my side or roll over. I still had plenty of leg room at the bottom of the bag as well. Once zipped up, I felt just like a mummy! I’ve not yet tested it outside in the cold weather, but I immediately felt warmer once I hopped in. I’m excited to test this out and will post an update once I’ve done so! I am a long distance hiker and plan on using this bag for “The Pacific Crest Trail.” Your Company has an amazing reputation and the bag is very affordable in comparison to other brands.

Kept me warm all night despite being wet from the rain!
Altos Synthetic 20f Male, 5'11" , 235lbs (broad shoulders/arms) Condition used in: 40F lows w/ moderate rain, on top of generic inflatable pad (bought on Amazon), wore standard hiking pants, polyester long sleeve, LL Bean fleece pullover and Carhart beanie (no socks). Kept me warm all night despite being wet from the rain! Tent isn't high quality so water made it in, and I was a little wet as well. Despite this, the sleeping bag was able to dry off enough and keep me warm for the entire night. The material was nice and compacted easily and very well with the provided compression sack into my 20L daybag. Very happy with this purchase.

Great 0 degree bag at unbelievable price - Winter Camping Here We Come!
This sleeping bag is the answer to your winter camping dreams. No longer will you have cold feet, hands or head with this zero degree synthetic down bag from Teton Sports. This bag is lighter and actually roomier than other similar bags I have purchased from Teton Sports. This bag is only 3.5 pounds and packs down to at least 2/3 the size of other 20 degree bags. The zipper is far improved as well.. nothing worse then trying to get out your sleeping bag and you cant get out. The installed foot box leaves plenty of room for your feet to stay work and comfortable. Yes, this is a mummy bag but you won't feel cramped like one in this bag. Finally, the quality Teton Sports provides in all their gear and the warranty that stands behind it... you can't beat this bag it's amazing price point.

Very warm even in very cold and exposed environment

Did a three night trip right after it arrived (arrived very quick) and worked great, was nice and warm even though I got slightly wet one morning from a tent mishap.

First and foremost, this is an excellent sleeping bag for the price. It's a very warm bag (perhaps too warm for all but the coldest nights) but it's also not excessively heavy or large. I purchased the bright orange bag rated for 0F (-18C) and the bag itself comes in at only 1295g (2.85lbs) and with the included compression bag the whole things is 1455g (3.2lbs). It packs up reasonably small for a 0F bag, but it's still a significant volume even when compressed. Pros: - Extremely warm bag - Packs up to a respectable size given the insulation value - Very light given the insulation value - Material feels soft and comfy, if not a little cheap - Very good neck baffle, and mummy top drawstring - Zippers are well baffled - Shape is snug but comfortable - Color is pretty cool Cons: - Zippers feel cheap. I wish they used a better quality zipper and charged an extra $10 - The bag is warmer and larger than most people will ever need, but it's their lightest bag - Zipper frequently snags inner baffle when closing - Drawstrings feel a bit cheap I find Teton's ratings and weights to be incredibly confusing, and there are several nearly identical looking products spanning the $99 up to $300 price points all with pretty non-sensical weights listed, with significant discrepancies between their website and Amazon. This matters a lot for those backpacking and looking for a lightweight sleeping bag, so having unreliable numbers there isn't great. Finally, I wish Teton would make a truly ultralight and compact 30-40F bag using the same general construction as their 0F bag, but with less insulation. There is a lack of good options for simple fall camping where a bag like this one is really too warm, and as a result, larger and heavier than needed. If they could make a bag like that at this price point, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Long term review: I am writing this review 5 years after my original purchase, over which time I have used this for 2-4 weeks per year. The sleeping bag has been fantastic. It is still going strong without any major issues. The zips have held up well and the synthetic down remains warm as ever. I have no complaints about this bag and it has seen me through camping and hiking in all conditions. It's very warm, which is great if you run cold, but is sometimes too hot for summer camping in Australia (often I will use it unzipped or half on me for warmer nights). It's long enough for my height of 6 ft and I enjoy the cozy mummy shape, although I've had friends who find the tight leg space uncomfortable.
