Great for a bad back
I've had a bad back for years and my physio recommended this product as it would help me to keep my spine flexible.£22.50 is quite a lot of money to spend on a bit of foam, but then again, physio treatments in London set me back between £50 and £75 per session. If it keeps me away from the physio, I'll be extremely happy. I'm also not doing it justice by calling it foam - it feels much more sturdy than that. I weight about 16 stone, and when I lie with it under my back, I don't even dent it.At the moment, I'm only using it to keep my back flexible, but I understand that it can be used to do much more than this. My exercise routine is quite straight-forward and only takes a couple of minutes. I start off by lying on my back, with the roller under my shoulders, just above my shoulder blades. I extend my arms above my head, breathe out completely and try and relax all of my muscles. I spend about 30 seconds in this position, before shuffling the roller a few inches down my back and repeating. They key to this seems to be the relaxation part (helped by breathing out). If I get it right, I can feel and hear the vertebrae loosening up. It's actually a very pleasant sensation.

The roller is only 4 inches high which makes it feel really secure when you're working with it. It's over 3 feet long and so it's really good for relaxing your full spine after a workout. I would recommend this roller.
