Q: how should this product be stored?

Most inoculants are designed to last one year from date of sale. I personally use it the following year. ( I hate wasting anything). I will keep it in a cool dark place till time for planting again. Beans and peas actually don't need inoculated as long as your soil has plenty of nitrogen in it through amending the soil yearly which we do. On this day, 10/20/21, I am actually going to my garden to pick green & yellow beans. 65º daytime and 45º at night . I probably will have a couple more picks if the weather allows. Good luck.

More looking on the internet has revealed that this inoculant producer, has, at least three different types of legume inoculant; this one for beans and peas, one for alfalfa and clover, and the third for soybeans. It sure would be easier if we knew which species of Rhizobia were included in each of these products.

This is designed to use with members of the pea family. It is a symbiotic relationship between the plant and the bacteria. Alfalfa is in that family so it should respond positively to being inoculated.
