Not so much a review, but a warning to the potential purchaser. This webpage refers to the German language edition of the book, published by Stiebner Verlag Gmbh (Mar 2008). Fine if you are a fluent German speaker, but this is not a bilingual version (i.e. German and English), just a German text. I submitted a product revision to this page that was accepted, but as of this date (7/10/11) it has not appeared!

Achtung diese Publikation eignet sich wirklich nur für Einsteiger, denn inhaltlich werden alle Komponenten nur oberflächlich angerissen. Ferner ist die ästhetische als auch systemische Gestaltung des Buches katastrophal, sodass man sich die Frage stellen muss wessen 'fachkundiger' Meinung sich man hier anvertrauen soll.' Editorial Design der 90er-Jahre extrem fragwürdig aufbereitet und kommentiert.

Alle wichtigen Begriffe und Gestaltungsprinzipien des Editorial Design von Zeitschriften und auch Zeitungen werden ausführlich und verständlich erklärt. Viele Bilder und Illustrationen lockern das Buch auf. Editorial Design ist in 5 logische Kapitel untergliedert.Dieses Buch ist klar abzugrenzen von Titeln, die ohne Erklärung Beispiele von Covern und Layouts zeigen und zur inspiration dienen.Toll finde ich an Editorial Design auch die verschiedenen Kurzübersichten von einigen Zeitschriften, dadurch erkennt man viele Trends der Magazinbranche. - Absolute Kaufempfehlung
