Very Solid Scooter
Just received it today. Easy assembly. Very Solid frame with handbrake and large 12 inch BMX type AIR tires. We initially bought another brand scooter with 'solid rubber' tires for our 10 year old son. The frame was good on that one, but the main problem was the 'solid rubber' 9 inch tires. Because the brake is on the rear tire there is less weight on it and therefore it skids easily and more often. After about 1-2 months of frequent riding, the rear tire developed a large flat spot that made the scooter unrideable. The manufacturer was only reachable through the question and answer part of on Amazon site. I could not find any other way to contact them outside Amazon. That was very frustrating because the manufacturer wanted me to put my address and telephone number on the Amazon Q&A section for that scooter, which I find an unacceptable method of obtaining a replacement tire. Therefore, I looked for a brand name scooter that had 'air filled' and larger 12 inch tires for ride stability over rocks and sidewalks. I also wanted a company here in the USA that was primarily scooters and would be easy to contact outside of Amazon to answer support and spare part questions. I came across this Madd Gear company. They have a complete company website outside of Amazon which is very good if you need the contact them directly. The scooter I received today from them is Rock Solid and my son loves it. It is reasonably priced for the high build quality. If you're buying a first scooter for your slightly older 8-12 child, I would highly recommend this model Madd Gear scooter. I would not recommend getting solid rubber tire scooters. While searching on the replacement tires, I came across other instances of people having the same flat spot issue and need to get replacement tires. Overall, I'm completely satisfied with the Madd Gear scooter. Rock solid construction, big air tires for stability over uneven terrain, nice handbrake for quick braking application (vs. the rear foot press brake that can confuse kids, especially if they need to stop quickly), and a nice tall height steering handle for taller kids. While it would nicer to have a rear 'disc' brake for greater general and wet stopping power, the caliper/rubber pad braking is fine for us because my son won't be riding the scooter in the rain. I imagine the caliber/pad braking system also makes rear tire replacement easier and less expensive.

Great Scooter! Just what I wanted! Its similar to what I had when I was 10 years old.
This is a nice scooter to get me around the neighborhood to have some fun or run errands. Quality made and just the right size. I am 5'9'' tall and it fits great! Easy assembly! Worth the money. Thank you so much for making something good to ride. I do not have a car, and this is nice to ride.

Good Looking and Fun Ride
The Madd Gear scooter is well constructed and was relatively easy to assemble, in spite of having only pictorial instructions. But everything was there in the box, including tools (!) and once assembled the scooter only needed bolts tightened and checking to make sure the handlebar with the brakes was aligned properly with the wheels, then it was good to go! The scooter is good looking, lightweight, stores well in an apartment or closet, is rated for 220 lbs, and morever is sized for adult riders too, with its good deck size and 12 inch pneumatic wheels. (which gave a much smoother and bump free ride) Finally the rear brake, activated by a front grip on the right handlebar, is smooth and provides confidence of a controlled stop at any reasonable speed. So I'm very happy with this Madd Gear scooter!

Tires quality not worth it
I've had the scooter for a little over a month now. My son has loved it. I did notice like others that the tire runs (plastic) were warped, but that didn't seem to cause issues with the ride or stability. Yesterday, the back tire was flat. Turns out the tire was worn through in one spot due to the brakes. The brakes would always catch the rims where they warped out , causing the tread to wear down. I'm unimpressed by the warped rims and the tire quality (1 month, really). In my opinion the rims should be metal to avoid this warping issue. Either that or improve the manufacturing and delivery. Delivery because I noticed the tires were bound together tightly in box with a zip tie... Not sure if that played into the warped rims.Do not recommend.

Great ride with the larger tires
The scooter has a great look and the larger tires make the ride so much better for my son. My younger son keeps asking for the same one. The kick stand is so helpful so zi don't have scooters just dumped on the grass. The ride is smooth and the tires can handle cutting through the grass between neighborhoods.

Very Sturdy....
A little heavy, wish it was foldable. But quite sturdy. My son enjoys riding it....

Love it!
My 6yo son absolutely loves it both on and off-road. The big tires make riding over uneven terrain a breeze with an exceptionally smooth ride. Love the styling. I would pay extra if they offered a disk brake option, but otherwise this was a great bargain. I had to bend the tip of the kickstand slightly because it was too tall, but it now works perfectly. It was packaged well and assembled easily. Would buy again!
